This is in defense of those who earnestly contend for the Christian faith....and there are many. You don't know them. You probably never heard of them and chances are you never will. Unlike others who call themselves Christians, these are not buffoons. They are mature, disciplined men. Hale and hearty. Brilliant minded men with eloquent speech. They are also well versed in holy scripture and they choose to live quiet, active lives according to the word of God. In my opinion, they are leaders in the truest sense of the word. They have earned the respect of men and the admiration of women. They are keenly aware of the political climate but choose not to be involved. As one woman said to one of these men, "I'd vote for you if you were running for President." His reply? "Thank you, but I've been called to a higher office." True Christianity is not pretentious nor boastful. It does not use deceit or clever tactics. Given what is "seen" or "heard" from card carrying religious members, it's easy to label someone a religious nut. Most who join a church are not the least bit interested in doing the "discipline" part of discipleship. They call themselves Christians then go about their daily lives talking and acting like buffoons. This is what most people see then base their judments of Christianity on these fools. But as A.W. Tozar once wrote, "God hides himself in a thick darkness from the wise and prudent of this world."
Just because one is unaware does not mean something or someone does not exist.
It's time to give someone like him a chance or else we end up with The Obama again (heart in the right place but, in over his head) or the religious nuts and two-faced political whores running on the republican side.
