So the basic jist of what is going on is Buddy has a lot of pent up guilt. Guilt that he "pretended" to be religous when he wasn't, was addicted to porn and gambling, and likely commited various other sins.
Now difficult times have fallen on his life, and he feels even more guilty about that. You feel like your previous life and actions perhaps lead your daughter to where she is? Had you done this or that, maybe it would have been different.....
I would certainly prefer you exorcise your demons on your own time, but you aren't offending me. Come knocking on my door on Saturday morning, that is another thing all together.
I know one thing, church is BIG business. They build 5 or 6 within miles of each other around here, and people heard right in on Sundays and donate. It's BIG business on TV too, and plenty of people jump right on that. Then a large majority of those frauds follow up by NOT practicing what they preach. Molesting children, and the like. In my mind organized religion is a money making scam, but again that's just me.
