wont be here during the day so i'll start another thread with mon notes that i come across........
Rangers
With the Rangers in a stretch of 34 consecutive games, manager Jerry Narron said catcher Ivan Rodriguez would get the day off Monday afternoon against Baltimore. Narron was also discussing a complete off day for first baseman Rafael Palmeiro, who has played started in some capacity in every game since June 14. If he plays every game the rest of the way, Palmeiro will have played at least 155 games in each of the last nine full seasons. ... Not surprisingly, shortstop Alex Rodriguez was chosen Rangers Player of the Month for August. Rodriguez hit .339 with 12 homers and 27 RBIs. It's the fourth time in five months he's won the award.

some comments from him on his last start,
"It was the first victory for Robertson (12-8) since Aug. 3. He had two no-decisions and two losses in his past four starts, and decided to change his style of pitching Wednesday.
"I used my fastball a lot tonight, probably more so than other nights," Robertson said. "I was changing speeds a little bit with the fastball and used my sinker quite a bit to the outer part of the plate. I was getting a lot of groundball outs. They were getting under them, popping them up, which is normally what you don't want with a sinker.
"But they weren't getting the good part of the bat on the ball. So working my fastball and changeup was pretty effective for me tonight."
Robertson got nine outs on fly balls, and four on strikeouts. He left for a pinch-hitter in the seventh inning.
"Jeriome's pitched a ton of innings this year, more than he's ever pitched," Zephyrs manager Chris Maloney said. "After the seventh, I thought he was getting the ball up a little bit. He lost a little command, I thought. We've got a fresh pen, so we shot them."
