This is part betting topic and part fan topic...
Having a good season so far, but 1-2 on Irish, including ML loss last week.
I knew my beloved Irish were a little bit over-rated at the beginning of season. But, I thought they were a little better than they've played so far...
They got lucky at Ga. Tech, aided by a questionable "helmet to helmet" shot on Quinn. They beat the hell out of a Penn State team that is a lot worse than last year.
Michigan is really good and proved it last week. Notre Dame is not that bad though. The defense is pretty much where I thought it would be. They are a bend/don't break D. They can't stop people on a short field. Irish offense is not as dominant as last year. A big part is O-line.
I think Weis will make necessary adjustments. He needs to play more field position and get a lead before opening things up. Trust the defense to an extent. I think Mich had 2 def. scores and 2 more turnovers that pretty much gave them scores.
Long story...still long....I really like Notre Dame -3 and I like them to get away from the "unstoppable offense" theory of last year and settle down and play good football on both sides of the ball. I hope they get in top 5 soon enough to compete for title, but it will be tough.
I also am still on the Weis bandwagon. I don't think last season was a fluke, but do think he needs to make adjustments....and will.
