with the Japan crisis and the problems with the nuclear reactors there has been plenty to worry about; despite this the markets have held up well.
on tuesday the market rallied sharply from what appeared to be sharp selloff.
during the sell off have not done much, bought ax.un artis reit on toronto, like to buy the reit below 13.25 (range), on Tuesday it opened at 12.90, managed to buy in at 13.10. has traded up to 13.40. at the price I bought in pays a 8% yield which is what attracted me to the reit. will sell some at 13.75 or else just hold and collect 8%.
small position in 28.85 cdn. in CCO cameco is one of the largest uranium producer, picked some up on friday, this is a pure gamble that the world does not blow up. the reactors in Japan are not state of the art, ie. but they are far better than the one in Russia that caused a disaster in the 80s, that was a 1950s reactor, if that....
CCO will be a short term trade, because do not like investing in Uranium stocks, it is very hard to track the price, (also many contracts are 5 years terms) and though believe more nuclear reactors will be built around the world, there will be slow down in the building of them over short term.
this trade will last a few weeks, or a day if things do not work out.
found out this week my neighbour has cancer and its in his lungs. only in his mid 40s and in excellent health until recently. you may live forever, but you should plan your estate and get your affairs in order, then enjoy and live life, you never know when it stops.
that is meant to sound positive :toast:
thanks
