Wells has averaged 5.0 innings pitched in games started. Mets offense should be ready for him today.

I sure don't making bets on inconsistent fellows like this. he could be strong today, and Trachsel 3-6 lifetime vs Pitt.

"After five spring training starts, Wells had a 7.53 ERA and allowed 21 hits in 14 1/3 innings. But the light apparently came on in Wells' final start and he held the Toronto Blue Jays to one run and five hits in six innings."



Even at his best, he only went 6 innings. My play is for him to only last 5 2/3 or less.

Wells batted in the top of the sixth but he was pulled after facing one batter in the bottom of the sixth.

77 pitches in 5 innings.

I thought I was done when Wells batted at the top of the 6th.

My co-workers thought I had finally gone nuts when I started cheering at my computer after I saw Wells got the yank!!!!
