Here my thoughts....
I really like the Yankees tonight. With all that has been going on since game 3 I think you have to back the boys in pin stripes......even though I hate more than anyone to see this organization win. All the hype will only fuel these men more and its hard to find a team that thrives in the heated spotlight more then the Yankees do.
Mussina is in many revenge spots tonight. (1) after losing to Wakefield in Game 1 (5-2) only 5 nights ago in NY. (2) He is winless in 4 post season starts and winless in last 4 starts overall. (3) has lost both post season starts this year. Yet he still owns a 10-5 record with a 3.05 ERA in Fenway and a 7-4 record 3.81 ERA in his road starts this year.
Sox defense is nothing close to what you would expect from Professional Athletes, Yankees are! Yankees got fooled by the knuckle baller in game 1 but will be ready for him after getting the opportunity to face him twice in the last 6 nights. Wakefield has beaten the Bombers 3 times in NY this year......BUT has lost both his starts in Fenway vs the Yanks. Soriano who has been so disappointing in the series loves to face Wakefield (I look for him, Giambi, and Posada to step up tonight). Wakefield is 6-8 with a 5.08 ERA in his Career vs NYY.
