see similar thread started by AR182 about Huckabee and a statement he made about Christianity. I couldn't find another thread about Obama/his church, so sorry if a repeat.

This is the website for the Church Obama claims. http://www.tucc.org/ This is the about area http://www.tucc.org/about.htm

We are a congregation which is Unashamedly Black and Unapologetically Christian... Our roots in the Black religious experience and tradition are deep, lasting and permanent. We are an African people, and remain "true to our native land," the mother continent, the cradle of civilization.

We are a congregation which is Unashamedly White and Unapologetically Christian... Our roots in the White religious experience and tradition are deep, lasting and permanent. <<Wonder if the Reverend Jackson would have a problem if you changed black to white on this statement?

cultural, smultural, this church is not welcoming people who are not black.

you need to open your horizons you big dumb moose.

I guarantee you that if you, your wife , and kids went into that church for a Sunday morning service, you would be welcomed, made to feel comfortable, and walk out with a differant opinion of a black congregation.

christians who believe that Jesus died on the cross so you could have eternal life, are pretty much christians no matter the color. you can quote me on that.

where is buddy when I need him

Umm, why would I ever attend a church that had that in their about us statement?? Being a Christian is about reaching those who are lost no matter their color. That's a terrible mission statement to be so color exclusive. I'm also quite sure I've been to many more "black" congregations than you.

you would go to see what they were about and if Obama was truly a man of God.

I think your misinterpreting that phrase.

I will look into that further.

not sure how you can be quite sure about this.

Let me ask you this then.

What was your experience in going to other black churchs ?

mine was always positive.

I loved it. Some of the best singing I've ever heard.
