Last night you had a line on the Philly/Bost game at -3 and 185'.

Right now its at -3 and 191......

So, with Philly's Coleman and McKie both listed as "day-to-day" why didn't both lines move if something is up????

I like Bost -3 and under 191 tonight.

Here's why: (assuming Coleman & McKie are out)

-Philly loses the team's 2nd & 3rd leading scores without Coleman and McKie who average 15 and 12 respectively.

-Philly is 2-1 against the Celts this season:

Dec. 17 @ Philly a 99-83 Philly win with Coleman's 9 and McKie's 17

Jan. 25 @ Bost a 106-90 Philly win with Coleman's 11 and McKie's 5

Mar. 4 @ Philly a 100-94 Bost win with Coleman's 16 and McKie o (out)

-I see similar matchup problems tonight for Philly tonight without McKie's defense......which lead to Philly's Mar. 4 loss in Boston.

-The trends seem to point ya toward the under here:

*In the last 9 meetings the over is 7-2

BUT

*The under is 3-1 in the 6'ers last 4

AND

*Boston's last 4 home games have all played under

-For the season:

............Philly....Bost

Pts For.......91'......96'

Pts Allowed...89'......94'

Talk in Boston today was about step'n up the effort on the defensive side of the ball. That fact, combined with Coleman and McKie likely being out tonight has me like'n the Celts and under.

Will need to watch the pre-game show an make sure of Philly's line up but will go ahead with the plays for now.

If someone else has a theory on this 5' rise in the total line.......I'd sure like to hear it!

Just don't see a Philly win'n or an over without Coleman and/or McKie.

Play'n Celts -3 and under 191 (for now)

1-0...LN

LAC over the team total of 101 W

Line movements can come from action - say, from a betting syndicate - not only from news. From my limited NBA capping experience 5 point moves in totals are not uncommon.

I think I once remember a study where someone tracked large movements in NBA totals and found bets with the "steamers" did well, but only if you managed to catch the original number.

NOT THAT THIS HELPS MUCH ON THE NUMBERS...BUT I'M FROM BOSTON AND ALL THE CELTIC TALK RIGHT NOW IS ABOUT DEFENSE ....HOW THEY BEAT THE CAVS SO BAD WEDS BECAUSE OF THIER SECOND HALF D ETC...THE ONLY THING THAT WORRIES ME ABOUT CELT UNDERS IS THAT THEY DO NOTAND ....I REPEAT DO NOT STOP SHOOTING THREES ...NO MATTER WHAT THE SCORE...THAT CAN BE GOOD AND BAD..IF THEY ARE COLD THEN I THINK THE UNDER IS A LOCK (IF THERE IS SUCH A THING) IN THIS GAME....BUT THE CELTS NEED THIS GAME AND WANT THIS GAME...THIS A POTENTIAL FIRST ROUND MATCHUP FOR THEM IN THE PLAYOFFS...AND BELIEVE ME THEY KNOW THIS ...SO IF THAT IS THE CASE LOOK FOR A PLAYOFF ATMOSPHERE AT THE VAULT TONIGHT....AND WE KNOW WHAT PLAYOFFS MEAN BETTER DEFENSE...GOOD LUCK

cooz3..........

cooz3..........

Great local perspective on the Philly/Bost game. Can't argue with anything ya said c3......especailly the fact we're getting into that "defensive" time of the season.

Also, a perfect example of the Celts 3-ball shooting came on Monday night against Portland. Even if the shots aren't fall'n from behind the arc.....they'll still keep fire'n 'em up.

Monday nite Tommy woulda gave a "Tommy Point" to any Celt player who went toward the hoop!! He was begging them to "run and go to the bucket" instead of fire'n up from the perimeter.

PC.....

Interesting study about catch'n an orginal number during "steam" action. Looks like the 191 is starting to come back down now. I see it at 189 to 191 here....there....and yonder!

On the Sixers webpage...........

On the Sixers webpage...........

6'ers GM Billy King comments on Coleman's status:

"The player knows his body better than we do,so we have always left it up to the player whether or not they could play."

They believe he has a tear and have Fed Exed the MRI's to doctors in Minn and Cal. No mention as to if Coleman will dress for tonight's game.

Will be watching the pre-game Philly line-up announcement with EXTREME interest and report ASAP.
