NC State +15000 for a Benji

Lots more talent that anyone (except CFB News) will have you believe. The Godfather has put together a few excellent recruiting classes. FSU/Miami/OSU are all at home. Tough road games at Maryland and Clemson, however. Good value here IMO, especially if the thin but talented lines can stay healthy.

Also, going to be a homer and take Michigan +1600 for a c-note as well. All the pieces are there if Gutierrez steps up and the DL stays healthy. Look out for the LB core, they are hands down the most athletic in the country and go 2-3 deep at all positions in the new 3/4 alignment. Eight 2004 contributors on defense were top 10 players in the country at their position coming out of HS. All were "five stars" in at least one publication. The talent is there. ND game is the key. If UM escapes the trap being set in South Bend then they should be 10-0 heading into C-bus.

Other teams with value IMO. Will not be playing them, however.:

Fla +2500
FSU +1000
UVA +4500

Teams I would not touch:

Miami
USC
UGA
LSU
Texas
OSU

let me be the first to wish you the best of luck on the play!:)

gonna really depend on how well Davis takes over the QB spot...and Stone as the backup if injury happens...the OL is gonna be strong, so maybe that will help get em into the "groove"

schedule does look good for the home games

CWood97 I have Florida St. winning the title so I will NOT wish you luck and I have FSU winning the ACC as well. NC St. has the 4th toughest pre-season SOS and it will be extremely tough to win out. Very brutal schedule to play while replacing their great QB! If NC St. does win it we all know they are for real.

I do like your Michigan wager and see some good value in that. Michigan should have great defense and defense wins championships is the old saying. With 16-1 odds you can easily hedge your bet if your fortunate enough to have Michigan play OSU undefeated and if Michigan makes it to title game. The QB is a CA boy and has lots of talent but is just missing experience. He does get to practice against that great defense so that helps a lot. Beating ND @ND could be tough early on but if UM gets by ND they could go on a streak. I am a fan of Michigan so I always like to see them do well in the Big 10. Good Luck!

BTW I also have USC to win the NC as well and was sad to see them in your list on who not to touch! :cursin:

I do think SC has a great team this year, but don't see any value there (unless of course you can get them with the "field" LOL). I also never play champs to repeat. Way too tough to do in today's college game. I like the FSU play, they are due and should take out Miami this year. Not liking the Canes at all at this point.

BTW, I don't see NCState going undefeated against that schedule, but don't think they'll need to. At least one team with one loss is the norm in the title game anymore.

Don't mean to throw salt in your game, but if NC STATE only has one loss - they will not be in the National Championship game. Not sure which poll you're looking at, but there would have to be some SERIOUS karma to get them to the title game period. I don't see them on any pre-season top 25 polls. They will have do some serious ass whuppin' to get to the top 10, and bump the other "power houses" out. Even if usc loses to va tech - they still have a chance to go to Orange Bowl - OVER a 1 loss NC STATE squad - imo.

When OU won the title in 2000 they started the season at #18. They had what they called RED OCTOBER. A brutal schedule of tejas #10, k-state #2, nebraska #1- back to back to back. It took us beating all of those teams to get us the #1 ranking in the nation that year. Oh, by the way - Strength of Schedule was in the mix WWWWWAAAAYYYY back then.

Best of luck with the bet - everyone needs it - you'll need a truckload of it with that one!

Trump Tight, if NCState beats OSU and Miami or FSU and wins the rest of their games, they will be in the title game over SC. As always, timing of everyone's losses will be key. Its obviously a long shot, but at +15000 I think there is some serious value here. GL

You're right - timing is everything. When you lose has quite a bit to do with where you play at the end of the year. But in the case of NC STATE, they aren't in any position to really lose ANY games. The "if's and buts" scenario you're talking about has quite a bit to do with both of Miami and FSU's schedules as well. You can't afford for either of them to lose a game either - but when NC STATE meets them - one of them will already be a 1 loss team. Thus if NC STATE beats them - 2 loss team, and pretty much out of it. Or worse yet - losing to one of the lesser teams on the schedule - such as North Carolina - they are too far back in the pack to have any stumbles along the way - imo. I think that they'd have to run the table - beating Miami, FSU, Maryland, and Clemson - with the ACC being UP from last year. They might be able to get away with one EARLY loss to someone, but not by much. At any rate - I hope it comes in. I'd love to be eating crow on that one!

if State has any chance, then have to only have one ACC loss....be it FSU or Miami...lose any other games (except maybe OSU) and they are out of it....dont think the Pack will lose to the Heels, but I have been wrong many, many times when it come to that series

Pack will get one game to get rolling before they hit the schedule hard against the Buckeyes...only good thing is it at home....where they play tough...we will see :scared

the early match-up of FSU/Miami will be interesting for the rest of the teams in the league...and VT is definitely not out of the mix with their level of play against the Trojans
