Illinois #5, Wisky #6??
Illinois #5, Wisky #6??
I really can't understand that one... I don't buy the argument that the committee didn't have time to take the game today into account (which was dominated by Wisky)..
They started the bracketing at 2:40 they claimed... at that time Wisky was already in control of the game...
PRIOR to the game....
The teams split their 2 meetings this year, with Illinois winning by 11 and Wisky winning by 20...
Wis was ranked #10, Illinois #13...
Wisconsin RPI was 17, Illinois was 24...
Yes, the one advantage Illinois had was finishing one game better in the big 10...
All those things considered, the teams should have gotten the same seed, even without the game today being considered... with the game today, Wisky should have been a #3 or #4 and Illinois a #6.....
I'm not as excited as everyone else about the "home" game in round 2 in Milwaukee... this is not their home arena, so it is not the same... plus playing #3 Pittsburgh is a very tough game for them....
I felt that this was one of the bigger injustices of the seeding process this year (with the St. Joe's fiasco and Air Force getting in as the other 2 that comes to mind)
