The Big Tease
Recruiting season is pretty exciting if you get yourself involved with it and then it is fun to see which players develop. Watch your program grow. If USC has the #1 or #10 recruiting class really does not matter to me because I think the USC "staff" is #1 in the nation in recognizing talent and developing it. USC staff does not look at recruiting rankings. USC just threw away a 4-star recruit last week that really wanted to come to USC. Just happens USC has the #1 class. Ohio St. is having a very good class as well, just happens that their rival Michigan is having a better class.
It is nice that you guys are getting all the recruits you want. But it doesnt mean anything unless you have a CRYSTAL trophy to look at. You guys dont have one......and I can go to THE Ohio State University and look at one from just a couple years ago.
I can go to Heritage Hall at USC (largest college trophy building in nation) and look at 9 legitimate National Championship Trophies for college football, 5 Heisman Trophies, and 21 Rose Bowl Trophies!!!! BTW, congrats to USC for winning 3 College National Championships in the Fall Year!!!!! Lastly, look at the academics of USC compared to OSU and it is
Tressel is an excellent coach and Ohio St. is fortunate to have him. I do not think Tressel is a great recruiter but he is good. I do think Carroll and "staff" are the best coaching staff in the nation.
***Carroll prob. one of the top 3 defensive minded coaches in the country and he is USC DC. He also is prob. the best recruiter in the country.
***Chow is prob. the #1 OC in the country. Hands down.
***Oregeron is prob. the #1 DL coach in the country and one of the best recruiters as well.
***Davis, the USC OL coach is prob. a top 5 OL coach in the country and great recruiter as well.
Rest of the staff is good but not nationally known or regarded.
And you may say that Pete Carroll had a rough first year dealing with poor talent from past coaches that couldnt recruit?
No, USC always had talent but no coaching. Now USC has great coaching along with great talent. That is why USC is blew out their opponents by an average of 4 touchdowns last year. That is why in the last 2 years........
2 Pac 10 Trophies
2 BCS BLOWOUTS against #3 and #4 teams in nation.
Heisman Trophy Winner
National Championship
23-3 record and I think 22-4 record ATS too (vegas can't pin USC)
in 3 years USC never lost in November
in 3 years USC has only lost by double digits 1 time (@ND after blowing lead)
Lastly, I think USC in their last 33 games, is 29-4 Straight Up with an average loss by 4pts. YEP!!!!!!!!!!!
In fact we are doing better than USC.
I would not trade coaching staffs with ANYONE in the nation and I would not trade our current stock of players with ANYONE in the nation. I also would not trade our current recruiting class with anyone in the nation. I do not think OSU is doing better than USC. I think USC has passed everybody in college football, but that is my opinion and the answer to that is still 4 years away. I am not just throwing that opinion out there, as I have given strong reasons for that opinion. I do "think" in the next 5 years USC will win at least 2 NC's as long as USC keeps this current coaching staff.
And no, your post was not snooty and i enjoyed reading it. You brought up good information.
