that is just ridiculous......miami couldn't play in the big 12???? The big 12 may be the strongest conference this year.....but come on.....the big east is not comparable to the sunbelt..... Miami....V Tech is still a good team.....although they have nosedived as of late...... Pitt showed that they are a extremely talented team..... dont forget.......they lost to A&M bc walt did the stupid swinging gate on the XP and they got flagged for someone having an illegal # on it or something similar to that.....and they outgained ND at ND....but a few costly turnovers did them in.......WVU is another team on the rise...... i put them alongside Maryland and K state as the 3 hottest teams right now...... the rest of the conference is lacking.......but i think those teams could play with anyone in the big 12.......ive gained so much valuable insight on this board..... but idiotic comments like that.....all i can say is :thefinger

Yep, that's just what Nebraska said, kinda around the beginning of this year. :thefinger

Gimme a break. 32 in a row against anybody is something. And I ain't no fan of them.

Schedule strength?
Oklahoma played: UTEP, Tulsa, S. Florida and Baylor.
Miami played: FAMU, Rutgers, Temple and U Conn.

Seems like everybody gets a few freebies. :moon:

The only difference is that Miami gets 6 freebies in conference play every year and Big XII teams get 1 or 2 at the most.

Your post borders on chronic borderline intellectual functioning and chronic mild mental retardation.

Ohio State has played 1 team in the top 10, and they got them at home. Ohio State plays in the weakest major conference, and doesn't even have to play the other good team in the conference.

Texas Tech is your decision based on beating them (again in Columbus) as someone who can compete in the Big XII. If you played at Texas Tech you would have lost, just like you should have lost about 2 other road games (Cincinnati and Purdue).

Texas would chew up Ohio State and spit them out on any field.

Oklahoma would make Ohio State grab their ankles.

Kansas State would shut out Ohio State.

Colorado would beat Ohio State by 14.

Nebraska would probably lose by 3 to Ohio State this year.

And, last, but certainly not least, IOWA would roll Ohio State. You guys aren't even the best team in your own conference. I hope Michican exposes you all as what you are, a fraud.

Ohio State

Ohio State

First, I would like to apologize for going off in this professional forum.:(

Second, Thank you Avalanche for putting in words how exactly I feel.

It very disheartening to watch these pathetically inept teams that are our supposed best teams in the nation play every week. Ohio State has to be the worst undefeated team in history. Iowa is TEN times the team they are!

Time will tell, but my heart and prayers go out to Michigan to show the nation just how bad Ohio State is.

Miama, all I can say is that I hope you have a loss so that you are not embarrassed on national TV by a one loss team! :moon:

and OWXL?? :thefinger

It is patently ludicrous to suggest that Miami and Ohio State would not be competitive in the fearsome Big 12. Miami has won 32 games in a row - were they all against weak sisters? Were they all against teams that couldn't finish .500 in the Big 12? I agree that this year's version of Miami and Ohio State won't be threats to anybody's list of the top 50 or even 100 teams in NCAAFB history. But any team(s) that can go undefeated have a little more than luck going for them and to bash them makes no sense at all. Personally, I hope they both lose before the regular season ends just so the BCS will be chaos and confusion.

I HAVE NEVER SEEN SUCH HATRED TOWARDS A PROGRAM. ONCE AGAIN THE SCHEDULE IS MADE HOW MANY YEARS IN ADVANCE?

OKLAHOMA CHOKED ON THE ROAD AGIANST AN A&M TEAM THAT HAS 3 HOME LOSSES:D

TEXAS CANT WIN A GAME ON THE ROAD EITHER AGAINST TEXAS TECH?LMAO:thefinger

KANSAS ST. IS SO GOOD THEY WONT EVEN GET TO THE CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP GAME:shrug:

ENOUGH SAID ABOUT THE GAY12!! WHEN OHIO ST IS 13-0 GOING TO THE BIG DANCE AGAINST MIAMI THEN ALL GAY12 FOLLOWERS CAN SIT BACK AND WATCH 2 TEAMS THAT TOOK CARE OF THEIR SCHEDULE WITHOUT ALL THE EXCUSES YOU GAY12 FANS HAVE FOR THEM!!!!!!!!!:thefinger

With all these gay references, are you just trying to come out of the closet?

Get Real!

Get Real!

Didn't Nebraska get their asses kicked in the title game last year and Oregon whipped on Colorado.

Big East is clearly the best conference in the country.

Big East is clearly the best conference in the country.

8-2 in bowl games the last two years...

(1) Big East frontrunner Miami is the unanimous choice of the pollsters and the BCS as the No. 1 team in the land. Riding a 32-game winning streak, the Hurricanes have manhandled two Southeast Conference powers, Florida (41-16) and Tennessee (26-3) on the road, but have struggled to some degree in four recent games including three against Big East opponents - West Virginia, Rutgers and Pittsburgh on Thursday night.

(2) When the Top 25 national rankings are released after this weekend's games, if four Big East teams aren't included, some pollsters might as well throw darts at the teams because they won't be looking at schedules and results, only won-lost records. Miami, Pittsburgh, West Virginia and Virginia Tech all have fared well enough in competitive schedules to earn a Top 25 berth. All will receive a post-season berth bowl and the fifth ranked team, Boston College, also will be bowling if it finishes with an 8-4 record by defeating Temple and Rutgers in its last two games.

(3) Speaking of BC, the Eagles are only 1-4 in the Big East after last week's win over Syracuse but are the only team to defeat No. 9 ranked Notre Dame.

(4) Virginia Tech has handed No. 12 ranked LSU one of its only two losses (26-8) and defeated Texas A&M (13-3) on the road as well as dismantling Marshall (47-21) but the Hokies have dropped three winnable games to Pittsburgh, Syracuse and West Virginia - all Big East members.

(5) Pittsburgh, meanwhile, is 15 points away from an 11-0 record entering next Saturday's 'Backyard Brawl' against West Virginia in Heinz Field. The Panthers gave unbeaten, No. 1 Miami all it could handle Thursday night before bowing. Pitt's other setbacks were to Notre Dame, 14-6 and Texas A&M, 14-12.

(6) West Virginia has played well its last six games when it has covered the spread every time or since its weakest outing against Maryland. But the Terps haven't lost since while moving up to No. 19 in the national polls.

(7) All of the above indicates one thing: parity or, at least, competitiveness at the top of the conference. And when you're competitive with the No. 1 team in the land, it speaks volumes for the overall quality of the league.
