Tbone next time you go to jiffy or wallymart ask how much the grease monkey makes and think about this, Do I want my 40K SUV serviced by a 6-8 $ an hour grease monkey. MY wife insists on going to wallymart for her oil change then her wiper blades fall off and I ask her who put them on?

Here's your sign !

Right before we went on Vacation I checked her tire pressure the right rear had the wheel cover installed over the tire valve.

I asked when was the last time your wheels were off?

OH when I got tires back in the winter.........

Did you ask wallymart to check your tire pressure ?

YES the last time they changed my oil about a month ago WHY?

BECAUSE THE TIRE VALVE HERE IS COVERED BY THE WHEEL COVER AND THERE IS NO FOCKING WAY THEY CHECKED THIS ONE:nono: :nono: :nono:

Here's your sign !

Trust me you get what you pay for with auto service.

Bottom line there is no way you can fully check a car over in 15 minutes and completely service it properly even if there are 2 guys in the pit, and one up top. Brakes need to be checked exhaust system needs to be checked, hinges should be lubed, shocks/struts examined, tire pressures, lights checked for proper operation, oil life moniter reset (on some cars), oil wont even completely drain in that short of a period.

CV boots examined, steering components should be checked for wear, (especially if you have a late model GM vehicle), and even more at certain mileage intervals.

I have a 96 Jetta that I have been bringing to the same Goodyear garage for the last 7 years for all oil changes. I have to leave the car overnight, but so what? For $30 or so they check and fill everything, check the tires, and do anything else I need. Granted the car has less than 30,000 miles on it, but it gets done every 6 months.

I dont think people should feel bad or guilty about going to a place that will do it in a day or less. Best advice I can give is to find someone you know that knows cars or loves cars and go where they go if they arent a doityourselfer.
