Been Thinking About Carolina VS Denver Scenario's During The Game

Any chance at all that Osweiler gets playing time in this one? Reason why I ask... because if Manning comes out throwing this short junk... Carolina's D will be all over it. In fact, just throwing some estimations... what if Carolina is winning by 14 or 17 at the half? Would Osweiler get playing time? What would the 2nd half line be?

Denver +1.5 or +0.5
Carolina -1.5 or -0.5??

Would you take Denver 2nd half if the announcers told you Osweiler would start 2nd half?

If Kubiak thinks Manning can handle the entire game... he has to be dreaming.

Honestly... I think Osweiler has a better chance at winning this game than Manning.

Only reason why Tom Brady lost to Denver... he was one dimensional. And even then... Denver still got lucky. Now Denver has to face Cam Newton who is super explosive.

I'm just suggesting to some posters... if this game isn't rigged... you should see Carolina up by 14-17 at the half. I'd be ready to take Denver 2nd Half.... if there's a QB change.

answers to thread

not for nothing.. but I think New England got lucky.. You forget 6 points that were on the board should of never happened.

Denver's first turnover on the 20 yard line was a fluke after they had just marched down the field..

Think they ride with Peyton hell or high water it's his last game. Only scenario I see him getting pulled is if it's just ugly helpless bad down 34-6 in 4th.

Osweiler would be like a "deer caught in the headlights" in this huge game. Denver backers better hope it doesn't come to that (imo). You can't extrapolate play in the NFL's largely mediocre regular season games to the huge pressure generated in the Super Bowl. That young gun doesn't have enough experience to deal with a solid defense like Carolina's. Denver will sink or swim on the heels of Peyton's play.

Did Manning get "pulled" in that shellacking against the Seahawks? That was a mercy killing. I am hoping for that type of game so Peyton can take his rightful place next to one time super bowl winning quarterbacks like Brad Johnson and Trent Dilfer.

Dude Denver is covering the game I don't know if they'll win probably but definitely cover

I agree think Denver gets this and "somehow" Manning rides off in glory most with thanks to the defense once again. Ironic he never had much of a D before and had to carry those teams now roles reversed lol. Think only way possible he gets pulled would be a "mercy" thing if script is not working out he has few picks , been sacked 6x, out their hobbling and Donks down big they give him the hook to save a little face.

the more i think about this game the more i like Denver.
but it must be said this depends on Peyton being able to play
at least 50% better than last week. I think he was kind of strapped in
at times. It seemed like maybe he wasn't making the calls. He needs
complete flexibility. This is his last rodeo he is the sheriff.

The only way Denver stays in the game is if CJ Anderson gets going. This isn't a fairy tale and Manning isn't stupid , he will play it close to the vest and let the running game and defense try to win it. I'm sure studying tape for 2 weeks straight will give him an idea of where the soft spots are and give him some safe throws to make via play action , motion , and stacking but think if he only has to throw 20-25 times that would be ideal.

Could see this being a very boring field position game. Like 7-3 at the half and 21-13 game. If Denver gets behind early by a couple TDs then it could get ugly. Manning having to get chunks of yards to catch up is a recipe for disaster vs this D.

Carolina has been superior to everyone all year while Denver had to win a dogfight at home vs 4-12 SD in the season finale or they probably aren't even here. I think Carolina wins but lowish scoring for them so if the line keeps climbing it's a risky bet. I took them at -5. Jealous of the people that had the foresight to grab the -3.

Peyton Manning would have to be hurt to come out - realistically, he is playing in his last game and I think he gets his shot. The warm temperatures will help and I think it will add to his health and his "fastball" so to speak. I am more interested in how many points can the Broncos score? The cannot get in a shootout and the Denver defense has to hold the score down. The under seems to correlate to Denver and Carolina and over correlates in my mind. But, who knows - amazing that we have two teams that fought to get in the Super Bowl and nobody thinks Denver has a chance.

I could see the read option tearing up Ware and Von, just like RG3 tore up damarcus ware in the NFCE division title game circa 2012. If those OLBs of Denver go to tee off like they did against Brady they might have some trouble

NEW THREAD

Denver +190!!! Do you remember those famous words from Pat Bowlen as>

"THIS ONE'S FOR JOHN!!!"?

As You know, Elway played a "minor" role in that victory.

So without further adieu I'll repeat those famous words.

"THIS ONE'S FOR PEYTON!!!"

1.The best Defense wins championships every time

2.Manning will be fed minimum responsibility (you can't choke up what you don't eat)

3.And last but not least.
Manning will retire after this big dance..

Hint:
Think Ray Lewis/Jerome Bettis.

Denver ML +190

Is without a doubt

FUKK YOU MONEY!!

I agree!

Sounds about right to me Pauly.

The best Defense won last year

Ohh wait

Money down the toilet.. This is going to look real foolish when the Panthers win by 30

Hope you are right...as fan of course.

Don't think Manning will be doing something like this.

This defense is absolutely elite level for Denver. They stopped pats twice on 4th down in final minutes and almost stopped them third time if not a miracle catch by gronk. Basically have been on the field the whole time at the end of 4th quarter and still held them off. I think Denver wins the Superbowl.

Its not that hard to stop a one dimensional offense. not impressed.
:00hour

Carolina's defense has only given up 17 more points, and think of all the games they've cruised to the finish letting teams back into it.

If the Panthers can get to Russell and Palmer, they can get to Peyton (Think OAK or KC games).

Also, Carolina can run up the middle and it will take pressure from the ends rushing. Though Cam can run it himself.

Take Thomas out of the equation with Norman on him, I think CAR is a lock; as long as Ed Hochuli isn't the head linesman.

Have you even seen the Carolina defense play?

No way Peyton Mallard beats this Panthers Defense. Those wounded ducks are getting returned for TD'S by Luke Kuechly and Co

NE was a 3pt favorite and came within a 2pt conversion from going into ot. Carolina was a 3pt favorite and won by 90...stop making it out that Denver win was so amazing. They were a 3 pt dog and won by 2. The Denver qb is 20 percent of what he used to be...the Carolina qb is 8x better n the mvp. People in this thread make it seem like Denver was a 10 point dog at new England and won by 20. 17 and one Carolina team is real and only a cam meltdown gives Denver a chance.

Also history has shown new England has been the facs to win it all many times and don't get it done. How many super bowls has Brady won in last ten yrs. Stop over rating broncos. If new englands healthy..had a rb..and we're home..they would of beaten Denver by 17. Also Seattle defense better then broncos and how did they do vs csrolina...if qb wasn't Peyton choker line would be 7

Peyton and the Broncos "NOT" reporting the Manning injury last year in the Indy playoff game will be why the league allows the Broncos to win. That game was fixed and so is this one! No need to cap this one.I have seen this scenario before and rarely am I wrong on these. GL

:142smilie

I don't know if you put stock in the PFF o-line rankings, but they have they have NE #25, DEN #20 and CAR #2.
https://www.profootballfocus.com/blo...s-this-season/

The story with DEN and NE was both losing their LT for the year and going with smoke and mirrors after that.

:00x32

from another thread

the line doesn't mean shit on this game... Pants either blow em out by 2td or lose the game outright teasers won't save you unless you r on the right side.. then again you don'e need them anyways.... again this is my humble betting experience thought... after all these years

Topic: 8 and 0 system I have developed for super bowl winner...

Carolina by 35, Denver will not even score, manning is terrible.. VEGAS MOVING LINE TELLS YOU THEY ARE SCARED TO DEATH, IF NOT THEY WOULD NOT MOVE THE LINE... BET YOUR HOUSE AND KIDS ON CAROLINA, BORROW FROM THE NEIGHBORS MAX OUT YOUR 401 K this is the LOCK WE HAVE ALL BEEN WAITING FOR... and take under too... denver will not score!!!!

replies

Sorry...but that's total BS.

Vegas "Scared to death" ?

They would never move a line unless they were deathly afraid?

LOL!

Your theory is just totally flawed.

so what's your 8-0 angle? You never mentioned it

But I can tell you that whatever your system is...it's worthless

Denver is a perfect 7-0 ATS this season as underdogs.

That streak will continue to 8-0 after the superbowl

also I am 5-0 on the superbowl plays since 2010

And 1-0 on my posted 5 unit plays this season

you are betting against a 14-0 streak here with your carolina play

throw your 8-0 system out the window, and go with denver

8 and 0 System I would not even sell, I can tell you this... I have watched you guys on this site try and pick Sharp plays, and you get your pants taking down, religiously... ALL THE BIG BETTORS WILL BE IN VEGAS, thinking they are sharp taking the DOG and they will get BITTEN....

Forehead manning is horrible ( HGH anyone ?) Yeah i saw post about the tight helmet

Big Daddy, I know Denver will score but I agree totally they win and feel pretty sure they cover. More confident on ML Carolina than any pick of my life. BOL

Topic: Panthers will destroy the Broncos like the Seahawk did!

Broncos aren't ready for the Panthers!

REPLIES

Good to see this post..

last time I bet denver in playoff spot was this exact superbowl thinking manning must get his 2nd ring to EVEN up with his brother ELI.

Well, disregarding most of the big cappers on here i went denver obviously and never even had a chance from the opening drive SAFETY when people were all discussing how much the odd was for safety on the opening drive was like 500-1 or something stupid.

well.. manning looked sharper then brady today..
and the defence, well, obviously there amazing..

but my thinking is leaning with CAM because .. hes just so much more dimensional.. and has more weapons..

but one hell of a game for manning today

Manning got sacked 2-3 times for 15 yard losses, he's not able to even get rid of the ball anymore. I just couldn't understand that.
They barely squeaked by the last two week, Carolina basically had two complete blowouts/dismantling of their two opponents.
Denver was lucky to catch Big Ben with a separated shoulder and the Pats with 21 injuries. I don't think Carolina is going to be "just happy to be there" either. I sure hope I'm not jumping the gun here by starting to invest in Carolina -3 -150, but don't see wanting to overthink it either.

Yep......as much as I'd rather see Denver win they don't stand a chance.

im gonna write all your names down and get with you after the sb.

DENVER WINS THIS. NONE OF YOU HAVE A CLUE. AT ALL. CERO. ZILCH. A FEW OF YOU WERE ON PATS TODAY. YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE.

HOWD THAT TURN OUT ?

NO WAY IN HELL.

Nothing I'd rather see than Denver shove the ball right up Newton's azz........but it ain't gonna happen.

Last I looked Broncos were # 1 in defense overall this year, and what wins Championships? ....... and last I looked its not a bad bet to be backing Peyton who can shine and go out a champ and that #1 D And I feel when Broncos win Peyton will retire

Two weeks is a long time from now. The high of that asss stomping will wear off. Manning only completed 7 passes in the second half. He's in big trouble. Carolina D is arguably just as good, but their offense is 10 times better. They got it all. The only reason the line isn't 7+ is because of the lore of Payton Manning, playing against this young black QB who hasn't really done much before this year. (Payton is just a shell of his former self) I think the value is with the Cats. Payton probably won't finish this game. Again, Carolina destroyed their opponents, Denver was lucky to get by. GL

Everyone said the Pats would BLOW THEM OUT.

YET, here is Manning in the SB. Yes, their D is No 1.

But the D does not throw passes. Manning threw 2 TDs today.

He and Vegas Rope-A-Doped the masses and Vegas cleaned up. I was on the right side of the fix, once again!

Because guys are stupid like that and rtefuse to learn, Vegas will lube the mup and stick it in them ONCE AGAIN in two weeks ,when they bet CAROLINA.

You can't fix stupid.

Manning threw for a WHOOPING 176yds and 12 first downs at HOME and you think that will win a Superbowl??

No fix is possible here...

Denvers D was great, but because they were at home and Brady cant move and has no O-Line...

This is going to be a blowout

naeisy, Without a deep ball Peyton is not going to stretch this opportunistic, fast CAR D and enlarge the field. Beaker has feet of clay for crying out loud, this front 4 made Carson Palmer look like a panicky rookie. Tell me, does Peyton Manning look as good as Palmer this year? SIX turnovers, that's not a choke job, that's complete ownership of an MVP candidate. The actual winner of the MVP is under center for Carolina, of course... Cam is no fool, although he acts like one out of the huddle. He's ready and he isn't "playing along" imo with the NFL sith lord's (fantasy) desire. NE limped across the finish line wk 17 and would have lost without their 1st round BYE imo. NE would get beaten by CAR too, but it might be a better game.

Nobody respects the Panthers as the SB fav, a status they have earned but likely do not want. The more they make this about Manning the lesser chance he has of prevailing.

Topic: No BS analysis for SB serious cappers

I've bet the SB every year for 20 yrs now. Probably hit about 65%. Biggest play was 2 yrs ago on Seahawks vs Broncos. Also large play last year on Seahawks (painful to think about). Denver defense looked great vs. Pats in conf champ game. Here's why: Pats can't run, don't even try. Pats have bad OL. This played perfectly to the strengths of Broncos defense. Corners only have to cover those quick receivers for less than 2 seconds because of the overwhelming pass rush. DEs and LBs don't have to honor the run threat, they can totally disrupt the pocket. Carolina has a much more balanced offense, a full arsenal of run plays which leads to play action and a stud TE that can stretch the LBs. Broncos offense is a different story.

We know that Manning can't throw the deep ball, even with max protect packages to handle the Panthers pass rush. Look for short passing game to TEs and RBs, screens, to take pressure off the OL. Very difficult to win the game if you can't stretch the defense. That being said, Panthers tend to get up early and then pack it in. Against the Broncos this may actually work, Manning may try to pick on the DBs opposite Norman but will be under pressure for sure. This looks like a repeat of the SB 48 vs Seahawks, thus the massive influx of Panthers money, pushing up the line. This will be much closer but still an easy cover. Car 27 Den 13.

wildcat, I like the way you broke the other games down. I can't disagree with anything you've said here... but I think it's as simple as the Panthers freight train is not going to be derailed by "the Sherriff" and his Denver deputies, not on a neutral field and definitely not if Peyton cannot employ the deep ball with consistency -- something we are yet to see out of Manning this year, while Cam throws one of the prettiest deep balls I've ever seen. Carolina seems to be building up to the SB, Denver's SB might have been against NE (I know I will catch heat for this statement).

CAR or no play, you do not step out in front of a steam roller to pick up pennies.:00hour

OK thats enough gotta jet :0008

************************** i really think you will like this thread

Last post was dead on exactly the way this game will be played out.

Been riding Carolina most of the year....BUT with 80% or whatever it is on them I have to lean to denver right now. Lean over for sure with 2 weeks to prepare and the spotlight on Cam.

As of now I'm def leaning Denver ... keeping an eye out on the line as it seems to keep rising ...

Like Denver. Last chance Manning gets a ring; think they hand him the game, but keep it close. :mj07:

Just another game and I generally just bet it the way I would any other, I do like to take a few props just for the Hell of it to make things interesting, a person can analyze to death. I would like to see Peyton go out a winner and I believe Denver has a damn good defense
but on the other hand Newton can scramble, young team, aggressive defense. Panthers had a weak schedule, Denver had a tougher schedule. I just remember this, any team can beat another on any given day in the NFL. Emotion on both sides, Manning is not mobile but savvy, Cam can run around and give receivers time. I just hope for a good competetive game and not a blowout. Probably shouldn't bet it but will because I bet on SuperBowl 1 and have bet every superbowl since..Yeaaaa, I'm am Old Fuckr..haha
Good Luck Everyone on whatever you bet.!!

Like Denver. Line keeps climbing. It won't ever make 7, but once my book gets to 6 I think I'll buy to 7. By game time I think the line will drop back again.

My line is up to 6 now. I was going to do the same thing. Should I wait to see if it gets to 6.5???

Or should I just take it now?

Just bought it from 6 to 7.5 -150

That's because games are not won by stats. Players and coaches decide the game by getting it done on the field. I could care less about Carolina 's record when I know how it came about during the largely meaningless and highly inconsistent/mediocre NFL regular season.

THEN same poster says this :

I have looked at this match-up pretty thoroughly and have come to a different conclusion than so many I've seen. Cam himself said some stuff recently that sort of reinforced what I believe will occur in this big game. He recently answered some criticism that was directed his way by saying that "he was being true to what he's always been." He supported his comments by naming other offensive teammates and basically saying that they were pretty much the same as they've been too. He then went on to say that the only difference was that they were "winning."

His statements really got my attention and led me to consider that, other than Cam- who on their offense really scares me in terms of doing offensive damage? I came up with this answer- NOBODY. Carolina had a shitty season last year and got an easy schedule this year as a result. The teams they played weren't very strong and didn't have an answer for stopping Cam mainly. Good defensive planning and proper execution can throw a monkey-wrench into the whole works.

What happens when the focus is on containing the damage of Cam's run threat is brought to bear? Everyone else mainly benefits when he thrives.

It is at that tipping point when you will see Carolina "revert to form." We will see whether they are truly this greatly improved team or whether that was all an optical illusion (from a true-power standpoint) sort of like Denver-Seattle of a couple years ago. I think they'll prove that " all that glitters- is not gold

Newton is real good. I believe the big "IF" in the games is can the Bronco defense keep him boxed in and forced to throw? If he gets loose and can run for first downs, then the chance of Denver winning is greatly diminished.

Newton has been stopped before and can be stopped again. Just because a team or an indiviual player experiences an uptick in performance doesn't make them immune from poor performance or even disaster. History would show many examples of this fact.

Defense wins games. Running game. Think Manning doesnt remember the 43-9 abomination he took from Seattle? All Denver with the under. w00t!

I was completely wrong when I thought that the Patriots would demolish the Broncos in the Championship game...the Denver D was awesome at getting pressure on Brady and thus limiting the Patriot's prolific offense. I believe, though, that Carolina has a much better O-line which will be able to suppress Denver's pass rush. Newton is a monster and will have time enough in the pocket to make plays. In addition, the Stewart running game will be up to snuff, allowing for the Panthers to have a balanced offensive attack.

On the other hand, Manning is definitely on the tail end of his career and has become only a game manager. He has no real velocity on his passes and his receivers are not quick enough to get separation often enough. I don't think Manning will get intercepted, opting instead to eat the sack or chuck the ball out of bounds. Denver's running game is generally lacklustre and so it will be pass, pass, pass, kick, mostimes. At best, McManus will be put into play if and when the Broncos can get into anywhere near the red zone.

I see this as a defensive Super Bowl game overall, but with Cam Newton able to make MORE plays overall, it will be Carolina winning by at least ten points when it's all said and done.

In all honesty if Ostweiler comes into the game I will not be happy.

But benching Manning in the Super Bowl would be a huge blow to his ego
and the franchise.

my wager is based on Manning playing the whole fucking game.
