why in the hell is Temple favored over Rhode Island???

If this doesnt seem out of whack to anyone else I am hammering Rhode Island......but it looks like money is coming in on Temple????

Temple blows....no doubt about it. Rhode Island is a decent team that should win this outright......am I nuts?

KINGSTON, R.I. - Brian Woodward, who was involved in a scuffle during Rhode Island's 81-67 loss to Xavier on Jan. 11, will not play in Rhode Island's Jan. 14 basketball game at Temple, it was announced by coach Jim Baron. The action is being taken by the University. :toast:

some possible reasons

some possible reasons

-Senior guard Brian Woodward was tossed from the Jan. 11 game against Xavier for throwing a punch at Xavier freshman Justin Doellman. The flagrant foul occurred as Dolleman was setting a screen on Woodward with 4:01 left in Xavier's 81-67 win at Rhode Island. The blow drew blood from Doellman's mouth and resulted in Woodward's ejection from the game. Coach Jim Baron decided to sit Woodward for the Temple game, disciplinary action that satisfied the Atlantic 10 office.

He is one of, if not the best player on the team. Averages 14 ppg and 4 boards. He also has 39 dishes on the season.

ALSO>>>>>>

--Senior backup point guard Steve Mello was benched for the Jan. 11 game vs. Xavier for violating team rules. He's expected to return to the active roster this week.

--Backup junior guard Randy Brooks is playing with a see-through mask on his face after suffering a broken nose earlier this season.

the big tease..

add the fact that temple has absolutely dominated this series with woodward being out and this line actually looks very low to me....

from the info i have ..Temple has won at least 5 in row over RI...

line looks a little odd ....

TEMPLE has failed in seven straight as home favorites of 3 ? to six. The Owls have won 11 of 13 SU against RHODE ISLAND and cashed in nine of the last 13 meetings. The Rams are riding a five-game ATS losing skid this season.
