This game deserves its own thread.

I'd have to lean toward taking the dog here and the 4.5. Oklahoma had a much easier game on Saturday, opening up a 31 pt halftime lead to end up winning by 49 while Texas had to come from behind in the second half to beat A & M. Oklahoma's game against Baylor wasn't very physical (both teams combined for only 17 fouls) while the Texas game was much more so (52 total fouls).

OU's road wins:

Baylor
Kansas St.
Iowa St.

Not what I would consider great wins. I don't think OU's three road losses(Bama, OSU and Miss. St), any of those teams compare to Texas. Look at OU's offensive ouput in those three loses:

62
45
46

The streak ends tonight, Texas wins by 8-10.

Good luck and better winnings,

I'll also take the stronger bench in a game like this. Could get ugly with a lot of fouls and Texas has the strongest bench in the Big 12. The Horns reserves have outscored their opponents in 16 of 19 games.

I go to OU law school and have followed the Sooners every game for my entire life...

As far as tonights game, I think in the end it is a NO PLAY for the follwing reasons:

1) As stated above, OU has not performed consistently on the road this year.

2) OU has beaten UT the last 8 times, including at least 4 of those games in which UT was favored.

3) This UT team is better than any of those involved in the last 8 losses.

4) Biggest rivalry game for both teams

5) OUs 49 point win over Baylor on Saturday may or may not have been a "turning of the corner" with Ebi Ere re-solidifying himself offensively.

These are the main reasons that I am staying off this game. It should be entertaining enough to watch without a fiscal interest!!! In the end, with closely matched teams I always take the points and would lean towards my Sooners here if forced to bet it.

I think the only way to play this game with any real value is to take OKLAHOMA on the MONEY LINE...

OU has shown that they step up against UT with 8 straight wins...They expect to win any time, place, or date and with their promising performance Saturday, they could be poised to roll early and keep the Austin crowd out of the game.

UT is damn good, but OU owns them. Sampson's D always shuts down Barnes schemes and there is no reason this should change tonight. Quannas White will contain TJ as much as possible, and the UT defense is going to be beaten over the top by the 3 ball if OU can keep up the hot shooting.

OU will either win outright, or lose by at least 10. In other words, I don't see the points being a factor and the money line between two even teams is the only thing I see any value in.

OU +175

Good Luck!!!

Texas student here...I played the Horns last night at -4 and now see -4'/5. I think Texas rolls tonight...they have not been playing up to their potential the last 2 games on the road, but they are coming home and I think they cover this one. I had them circled on Saturday in College Station and didn't play them until the 2nd half where I got very nice value (2h -7, -2 for game)...and I was glad they failed to cover the original game line at -10. Two ATS losses in a row including an upset loss in Boulder...now home vs OU...a team that has played very well and won 5 or 6 SU in a row right now.

Good spot for the Horns...if they lose...I will pound them until they cover (bad philosophy, but I will eventually get my $ back for this one).

Master Student--

There's probably students at Tennessee State and Towson State who are saying the same thing. OK, I admit your chances are a lot better with Texas but the "due" theory has cost many a bettor a fortune.

I am not playing on the "due" theory. I don't make plays based on a team being due. I capped every game on the card today and picked a side on each game. Narrowed it down to 8 games, and then my best 4, and Texas happened to be on that list. I have bet with my boys and against them (Colorado +pts and ML), but tonight I think they can beat OU by 2 baskets.
