Ole Miss strength defensively are their DTs. The secondary is not good in coverage. One of their safeties is an in-the-box player, and poor techinique would indicate neither CB appears to have longterm experience at the position. LSU has 3 5* WRs, although Russel Shpard has alot to improve on. The outside guys are long and fast, and should present huge mismatch concerns for the Ole Miss CBs. Of course, LSU has not passed the football with any consistency in any game this year including against lowly UL-M last week, so it is difficult to envision any difference today

If things go as they have all season, LSU will run, and Ole Miss will overcommit to the run. As mentioned previously, LSU will not liekly be able to exploit this. It should also be noted that the LSU ground game is not game-breaking (with the exception of the jet sweep to Shepard that has produced 4 50yard runs this year), as the home run threats at RB are the young guys. Ridley is a masher with nice balance and vision, but no breakaway potential.

LSU special teams have been great and the defense has been outstanding in every half of football except for the 2h @ Aub and the 2h vs UNC, in a game that LSU checked out of mentally with a 20 lead against a depleted lineup. That said, Miss has a game breaker in Masoli, and we all saw what Newton did to LSU.

I want to play Ole Miss, but am concerned about senior day. The emotional leader of the team is Kelvin Sheperd, and this is his final game in Tiger Stadium. Were this game at night, I would lay off for sure. Under also looks appealing to me....

LSU 27-17

I would appreciate other thoughts on this game...

I'm trying to figure out a reason to like Ole Miss but I can't yet. Tennessee blew them out. And LSU is playing impress the computers in case a couple of teams above them lose.

Cie - FWIW I agree. Ole Miss looks real good getting all those points, but they rolled over and quit last week. Masoli was not right, Nutt pressured the athletic trainer into clearing him IMO, and he wasn't ready. One good hit from an LSU D-lineman and it is bye bye time.

I would think the only play would be the under. I cannot back Les giving that many points, but me thinks the Rebs are done.

Hard game to figure. These teams normally really get up for each other but like Skip said, I don't think Masoli was 'really' ready to go against Tenn, not to take any thing away from Tenn's big win. And he still might not be 100%. Look how long Locke needed to sit out for Ky. Like you hinted/said, I think it all boils down to how well LSU throws it; it could be a rout if they complete a few long ones, or close if they can't. Ole Miss may have quit on Tenn but they won't play dead against the Tigers, for sure.

Exactly. This has been GOY for Miss lately, and that obviously works to their advantage. Nutt has performed well vs Miles head to head at Ark and Ole Miss. I have had Ole Miss circled as a possible play before I saw a line, but have talked myself out of it for now.

SOMEWHERE AROUND THE S.E.C.
if i were Miles i would start Lee and throw throw and throw some more.

if jefferson plays the whole game ole miss covers and could win at the end. if lee plays the whole game LSU wins handily.

having said this i suspect Jefferson starts at qb and gives way to Leet in a tight game . lee comes in the game in the second half and rescues the tigers and leads them to victory. the margin of victory depends on how soon Lee enters the game.
a no play for me

good luck
