"the bunker"
""a ragtag group of protesters have for the last year and a half been ?occupying? a small grove of oak trees near the U.C. Berkeley campus, in an attempt to prevent the university from building a new student athletic facility on the site. For unknown reasons, the university never evicted the protesters, who had taken to living in the trees themselves. That is, until today, June 17, 2008, when without warning the university began to dismantle the illegal ?tree-sit.?"""

lol...

the scary part is that the less highly evolved members of this subspecies will become democrat members of congress pushing the nationalization of industries and tax and spend policies that would warm the heart of karl marx (which is saying something since he's still dead)...........

some highlights..

Climate Charlatan

After former Vice President Al Gore's massive home energy use was exposed in February 2007, the Nobel Prize winner began using solar panels, a geothermal system, energy-efficient light bulbs and even updated his windows and ductwork.

But the Tennessee Center for Policy Research, which revealed Gore's energy bills last year, reports that since he made those green-friendly changes to his Tennessee mansion, his energy use has surged more than 10 percent.

The center says that in the past year, Gore's home has burned through more than 213,000 kilowatt hours of electricity. That is enough to power 232 average American households for a month.

The funny thing about this is that these are not actual Berkeley students. Just attention whores.

More "hippy" castoffs from the rest of the country, who were raised the wrong way, and came to the Bay Area because it was the only place that would accept their insanity.

I've said it a million times. People actually originally FROM the Bay Area are typically not as crazy as you would think. Tolerant, yes. But not as crazy.

Be glad we take these nutjobs off your hands. Want them back?

Gotta love the creativity with the numbers by the boys at the TCPR. Take the amount of energy used by his home -- which one could reasonably understand is much bigger than the "average American household" considering he is a former VP, senator and has an Oscar-winning film -- over the course of a year, and compare it to how many "average" homes it could power for a month.

I suppose saying that a wealthy long-time politican's home uses enough energy to power 19.3 "average American homes" doesn't carry quite the shock value.

no worries about Al; he's purchasing plenty of carbon credits and paying about 1.5 times more for green power. :mj07:

Mr B-- The point was moreso the increase in energy useage "after" all the greeny hyped energy savings were implemented--and thats after initial expenditure of items--:)
