Guys,
Let me relive a little bit of shit luck I have recently encountered at the track.
I think it really begins on Friday afternoon when I bet a couple horses that were close, but didn't get there. No big deal, it happens. Then, I had a larger bet on a Mark Casse horse ridden by Luis Saez....I watched Saez wrestle him all the way down the back stretch, and then pretty much choke him down when he runs into a wall of horses in deep stretch to finish 4th or 5th. SKY CAPTAIN is the name, but he won't be any 4 or 5-1 next start. That one left a real sour taste in my mouth, but again, it happens.
The good stuff starts late Sunday afternoon when I am alive to 2 horses (7,11) in the final leg of the Late Pick 4 @ GP. The two I have are fucking stablemates: The 11 is paying about $400 and the 7 is just shy of $1K on a $0.50 wager. The race finishes 11-9-7 but they toss the 11 for interference on the 7. My other horse - his fucking stablemate. Official order 9-7-11 and I'm holding my pecker in my hand. 7 was going to win at a nice return. 11 did win. I've got both horses but got nothing from the DQ.
So, I wasn't going to play anything on the holiday Monday, but the kids ended up sick and slept for a while in the afternoon, and it is still COLD AS FUCK outside, so I downloaded the form and decided to make a very small wager into the late P4 pool again. I actually went single-single-single-all for a buck. (9-6-2-*). It looked pretty chalky and I was hoping to squeak through and get a bomb at the end. Anyway, first leg goes according to plan - 9 fights hard all the way to the wire to hold them off. Then the OBJECTION sign goes up. I turn the computer off at this point. I know how this story is going to end.....9 gets tossed for interference in the stretch and my singles proceed to win the 8th and 9th. Thankfully the horse that wins the finale is only 7/2, and with my 9 in the first leg, the pool would likely have only paid $200, but fuck me, if I could turn 12 bucks into $200 every day, life would be a little easier.
So....to make a very long story short: My dumb ass got DQ'd out of the Pick 4 --- 2 days in a fucking row!!!!
