Would have gone 6 for 6 yesterday but G'Damn Smoltz had to throw two big juicy steaks to Soriano at the plate... cant rely on the braves these days. Still hit the other games.
Have two solid plays today:
1st. The Underdog Play:
Florida Marlins +175 @ Philadelphia Phillies Mitre vs. Myers.
I know this marlins team is young and plays a little sloppy, but they put runs on the board which is all that matters. Myers is good but has a 5.19 career ERA against the Fish, and for this game i think 175 is too good a line not to take. I'll fade the Phillies tonight.
ABSOLUTE LOCK OF THE DAY:
Pittsburgh Pirates @ Houston Astros -165 Snell vs. Buchholz
The Pirates are just a sad franchise... This season's start has posted an NL worst 5-13 and 1-7 on the road. Tonight they are again on the road, in Houston where they are 11-33 since 2000. To make the situation worse, SNELL is pitching. Lasting just 5 innings in each 3 starts, this champ allows hitters a .382 avg. and 9.60 ERA . Houston started 8-3 at home this year. Taylor Buchholz makes his 2nd start, and in the first allowed only 2 hits and two ERs. Ensberg is laying serious wood on the ball, homering in 6 straight games (franchise record).... so really, WHATS NOT TO LIKE ABOUT HOUSTON?
Leaning towards:
Reds @ Brewers Over 9.5 Claussen vs. Bush
Gotta pull the trigger in the next couple hours. Claussen and Bush are good pitchers, but both of these teams can put up some serious scores... I think I'll take it!
GL everyone. Be back if I find anymore games later on
