Yes its true that the pats lost in the first round to the jets, but during the regular season their play was awesome. Plus/minus they were an nfl best +28. Next closest was +17, best in nfc was Atl +14. Mia was -12.
Line off N.E. was again nfl best +138 no one else was over 91. Mia was -46.
Mia has no running game (Bush is primarily a receiver, other option, Thomas is a rookie. The most glaring problem is the offensive line. Miami has nothing at right tackle, a hobbled player at right guard and a rookie at center. Considering that New England's defensive front is comprised of Pro Bowl talents including a revitalized Albert Haynesworth and Andre Carter joining Vince Wilfork, the Patriots will be able bring lots of pressure on the Mia quarterback. Henne will be on his back ~10+ times.
Add to that a N.E. team thats chafing under the fact everyone seems to be omitting them from talk about who'll be serious contenders.
I think getting them at -6.5, is a bargain. (I bought the half) but I'll be stunned if this isn't a 17 point margin or better. I think its even money Henne doesn't finish the game. Great D line with a chip, horrible O line and no running game. Ouch.
I'm also looking at the Pit/Bal under. the bears as a home dog and wondering if 7.5 is too many for indy regardless of who's at qb. But don't like any as much as NE.
If you see a reason why Mia covers 6.5, please tell me.
bol 2 all. :toast:
