im a little jaded after that 1-0 loss with westbrook on sunday night in oakland (on the heels of a 2-1 loss to anaheim no less). so maybe taking all the games i like.....and then betting under the total might be the way to go. regardless, im taking a stab on these tuesday:
chisox (+190) over minnesota
what are the twins playing for? not a whole lot. obviously santana is pitching for a cy young, but his opponent is no bum. no way can i justify the sox being a 2/1 dog with garcia on the hill against a twins team on cruise control playing out the string. these late season lines obviously are obviously adjusted to reflect teams in/out of the race. but minny playing for nothing. worth noting that santana has been hit hard by sox in his career (6.19 era...who'd have thought?)
mariners (+190) over anaheim
ive mentioned it before, but i really really like this madritsch kid. he just battles and is tough to rattle. hes only been hit hard once since getting moved to the starting rotation. and he absolutely shut down the red sox last start. mariners just seem like a really live dog against a pitcher laying 2/1 a few starts removed from the disabled list.
just cant see these plays not splitting and walking away with a unit of profit. tons of value against overpriced teams.
