one think can be said about Andy Benes

I know LaRussa wouldn't think of this, as he sucks as a manager, but after watching Benes give up the long home run to Walker in the 10th to make it 4-3, and KNOWING that Benes gives up a lot of HR's, wouldn't you intentially walk Stinnett with 1 out and Reyes (the pitcher) coming up?
You got a chance to turn a double play as Reyes is the slowest guy in the league.. worst case it would take a long double by Pokey Reese with 2 outs and a man at first to tie the score...
Like I said, LaRussa sucks as a manager.. uses 8 pitchers, but leaves Benes in to give up 3 HR's in 2 innings? Takes his best reliever (Kline) out of the game?
How the heck did the Cards win 11 in a row with such a handicap as manager? Must have awfully good talent to overcome the poor managing....
