Only week 2 and I am paralyzed by doubt

I shouldn't be surprised. This happens every season with college football. I don't do a good job of capping because of so many options, so I end up tailing the many good cappers on this board.

Tonight, for example, I was pretty sold on the notion of UNLV being a live dog with the game looking like a pretty solid under. Then I see IE's post including this:

"This most likely will not be the case come Friday, as Tuel is doubtful and Halliday will likely step into the starting role.

In most cases this would be discouraging news, but after Halliday?s record-breaking performance last season vs Arizona State, the fans have been dying to see the (rs) sophomore get another shot at it.
On November 12, 2011 Connor Halliday set a Washington State Freshman record throwing for 494 yards and 4 touchdowns against Arizona State.
Halliday came in for the injured Tuel last week and seemed to pick up right where he left off, broadcasting his arm strength and heaving the ball down field. In this offense with his arsenal of receivers, Halliday?s upside is very intriguing."

Now I'm imagining Halliday lighting it up tonight and you know we've all seen this movie before. Backup QB in, rock star, and especially under Leach who is HUNGRY for big offense. This is why I need to quit betting. The symphony in my mind plays louder and louder. Well, F it. I hate going against the big dogs but I certainly don't want to bet against Halliday's potential. Smart players would say --- ok, just sit this one out. But I am the book's dream because I am a relatively small player who loves action. So, I will bet my $25 on Wash St TT over and prob a tez. :box2: Then, at halftime...with UNLV leading 3-0, I will put another $25 on 2H over or some other wishful mistake...and tomorrow I will re-load because it's already been that kind of a season. I share all of this because...as they say with any personal flaw...admitting that you have a problem is the first step toward correcting it. :mj07:

Seriously, it felt good to vent and I do like Wash St only because of the QB switch. The Cougs were awful but a change behind center can make a pretty big diff esp when the guy has some demonstrated numbers. Good luck with whatever you play.

from washington st. reporter:

FWIW: I have no doubt Halliday will carve up UNLV tonight. What I question: His ability to do it to Pac-12 (minus Colorado) with his style.
