Florida St -4 over Florida ***
Great opening game...think FSU has the better team..last yr @Florida FSU beat them 83-66..FSU has 6'8 Cofer inside who is tough..add the big boys Koumadge and Kabenga..these guys are 6'11 and 7'0...plus they have 6'7 Mann at gd and he is probably one of the best gds in the country...this team is so athletic everywhere...meanwhile Chiozza finally graduated the gators...he had the ball about 85% of the time..so they have to have a new scheme...Hudson is NBA material and Allen is big time..Gators are also loaded but think FSU overall is the better team...plus Florida can't win in Tallahasse...FSU runs their transition, inside have the physical advantage and has Mann...FSU wins by 6-10 pts

Back tomorrow with a few more..on day 1 already in the doghouse with my wife...spent about 4-5 hours today breaking down about 8 or 9 games....might go tomorrow night to see Texas-East Illi..definitely going Friday night to see Air Force-Texas St....after 41 years in education think its time to put my wife in her place..I came down to Austin for 6 months...this is my retirement.right...."back off honey" ..you go kayking, hiking, yoga and aerobics everyday..
Right Dog Lover..are you going to the game..? might need some marital advice in row 33.. and maybe a place to stay tomorrow nite..

UCF -8 over Rider **
Rider is the best team in the MAAC..it returns all 5 starters ..won the conference..have the best player in Vaughn, one of the best pt gd Jordan..Allan the other gd can score..Marshall is there only big man at 6'9..the other 4 starters are all under 6'4...they have no post player...they play a 4-gd offense...and that's fine when you play in the MAAC and go 15-3...they have a terrible coach in Baggett...in the 1st round of the MAAC tourney St Peters knocked them out...they will win the MAAC...Vaughn will be POY in conf...but they are matching up with a tough team...
UCF has one of the best players in the country coming back from injury BJ Taylor...they have an excellent pt gd in Allen...and they have Taco back who is 7'4...behind him are a few 6'11 back ups...Brown is a 6'8 fd,rebounder and shot blocker..but UCF plays tough defense..think they control the paint, and put pressure on the Broncos starters...Rider defense is their weak point..even last yr...and lets not forget Rider is the worst FT% in the country...they are at 60%...Shaquille shoots better FT's then the Broncos...Rider has talent though but 3 of the 5 starters back are sophs so they are still young....think they get over matched and lose by double digits..Nites have an aircraft carrier in the middle... a great play maker in Allen and an impact scorer in BJ..

FSU's Coffer is out for 6 weeks..that is a big loss...will stick with FSU but half the play **

Providence -19 over Siena **
1st they fired a good coach in Pastos...verbal abuse...to a team manager..he was a good coach but Rico was poison last yr..anyway the whole team but Richards transferred or graduated...everyone Richards is back but..hurt himself..out for the season...Saints were pretty bad last year...they will be last in the MAAC...meanwhile Prov is loaded...they lost some big time players but Cooley just reloads...Diallo is 6'7 and can score..Holt was out all last yr..he is big time at 6'7..they have some 6'9 and 6'10 kids coming off the bench...some scorers back and a super frosh..Cooley knows Siena since he coached at Fairfield...but everyone is gone...talent wise Prov should win by +30..buts its early..and Cooley could be playing his subs with 10 minutes to go...and Prov in early games doesn't blow people away..last yr they best Stoney Brook by 2,Rider by 4,Brown by 5 on OT and Belmont by 2...and Prov was loaded last yr..early games when good teams meet inferior teams the 1st week are tough..if both teams bring their A game to play Prov wins this by over 30...but who knows with early games..coaches want to get to see the 2nd and 3rd teams playing..so small play..
back later have to go babysit granddaughter

Box, I'll be there. Come find me...same seats.
Anxious to see the new guys.
What I like to see is no unanimous "One & Done", maybe some solid team players.
Shaka needs to produce this year, or possibly he'll be looking for a new team to coach.
Hook'em!

East Tenn +7 over Ga Southern **
Panthers have the best player in the SBC in Simond .
Good 3 pt shooting team...should win the conf..but think ETSU can keep this close.they have a juco star coming in...have a good gd and a 6'10 kid..enough to keep it close

Auburn -19.5 over So Bama **
3 of Aubuns players won't be there tonite..Wiley and Puerfoy..plus they lost one of there best players to the Johnnies...but they have a great gd tandem in Brown and Harper...So Bama has an avf offense, terrible 3 pt % team and FG%...they can't win on the road losing 13 of 14. Sikes is there best scorer avg 18 pts but is 6'1 and weighs about 160 pounds...they did get some graduate transfers but think Auburn despite missing two of there best players still win and cover..last yr Bama lost by 15,23,31,15 and 19 to Laf,UTA,FIU,Troy,etc..

Purdue -21 over Fairfield **
Purdue loaded...Edwards one of the best players in the country.they have an aircraft carrier in 7'3 Haarms ..they have a big front line..outside shooters, etc. Bouudreax the Darmouth transer.Stags are decent but lost Nelson their top scorer...life in Conn will be different w/o Nelson..he did everything...

G.mason -4 over Penn **

gotta run..see you at the game doglover

Thanks Box! You helped sell me for $800 wager on FSU... plus the fact they have owned Florida in this rivalry. Thought line should have been 8ish based on players coming back and Seminoles rolled!:0008
