Valuist.....I think it's a GREAT idea to ride the BIG 12 tonight.....please anyone give reasons not too.....

If you don't think that TEXAS was watching those 2 games last night and not getting all pumped up bc the BIG 12 is kicking ass and taking names your sadly mistaken.....

TEXAS ML....going for 5 in a row here........

Oregon is NOT a good defensive squad.....and PLEASE for the people out there that think that OREGON height advantage will cause a problem tonight.....IT WONT PERIOD.....here's what you need to understand....TEXAS has been playing without CHRIS OWENS dayum near the whole season.....This being said JAMES THOMAS has been outplaying and outrebounding every single playing that he defends and guess what the kicker is here...ALL those player have been taller than him....I dont think there is player out there in college basketball that has LONGER arms than this guy...I mean to tell you that his arms probably hang down to his knees man.....sheesh.......

This Texas squad is a very SCRAPPY team....If you like the style of Defense that OU plays, Texas is the second coming and their younger.

The only thing that scares me about OREGON is their 3-pt. shooting which led the PAC 10 this yr I do believe.....Texas really hasnt been doin a good job throughout the year defending the perimeter but make no mistakes about it that BARNES has already made these adjustments.

Also for those of you who haven't seen this UT team play....keep your eye on TJ FORD(Freshman)....the only thing I can say about this kid is WOW.....if we keep him here 4 years it will be a miracle and I will be the happiest SOB ever.....

#1 reason to take Texas tonight: Big 12 teams play DEFENSE for 40 minutes!!!!!

Some conferences play defense for half the game, part of the game, a possession here and there, or for the last two minutes......but Big 12 teams still playing are conditioned, have seen the best offense in the nation and thus are not intimidated by anything, and for once -- finally have guys who can score with anyone.

The ACC is a classic case of pathetic defense finally catching up to them. Duke made any marginal post player look like an all-american this year. ACC has turned into a layup league. Never seen so many layups. There are not many times you get layups and uncontested shots against big 12 teams out of your halfcourt game.

Big East plays good defense, but with the exception of UConn, has a very hard time scoring, and even UConn can have its droughts....same goes with most teams in Big 10.

Oregon has a lot of guns on their team, but Texas does too, and that big white oaf for Oregon is going to have a hard time keeping up in this game. I like Texas ML tonight too. Hopefully they and Kansas get through.......

My prediction (like anyone cares) :)

TEXAS:

Positives: We can run and outlast UO. We have more depth and will get out to a better start.

Negatives: We don't defend 3-pt'ers very well. We can't hold on to a big lead.

OREGON:

Positives: Have three players that can shoot daylights. Three Boschee-esque players scare the daylights out of me! They can score and score and score FAST!

Negatives: Not much depth. Foul trouble would hurt them more.

FINAL PREDICTION:
I think we will get off to a good lead, (up by 8 at half) They will come back and be up by 5 pts. We will win it in OT or at the end in another heart attack. UT by 3

BIGGEST SCARE: I just fear that if we let them come back in the game, we may not be able to get the lead back. Where as BC and MSU made 15-4 runs... UO could easily make a 25-2 run in no time at all.

GL all you high rollers!

The more I look at it, the more I like Texas. Oregon is 20-1 at home but only 5-7 away from their home court, and those losses were to teams like UMass, Portland, Minnesota, Ariz St and Washington. With a different shooting environment, it might be a bad time to back a team that relies as heavily on the 3 as Oregon.

Oregon is 20-1 has a home team, but i think they
were 16-0 at home or something like that.

the loss to USC was on a neutral court. probably their
only neutral court loss??
