ORIOLES/BLUE JAYS Over 10 ?105 - The Toronto offense may finally be starting to come around, which is bad news for American League pitchers considering the talent of their lineup. The Jays put up 11 runs at Detroit yesterday, pushing their average to 7 runs per game for the 3-game series. They have also hit considerably better vs. left-handed pitchers (.263) that right-handers (.234) so far this year, so the young Orioles hurler Riley may be in for a long night. Yes, Riley has looked impressive in his brief Major League career, but this will be his third start vs. Toronto, so the Blue Jays may have figured him out. Toronto brought in Batista to bolster their pitching staff, but he has a 5.25 ERA in his first 2 starts, thanks to a beating he took in the first week at the hand of the Detroit Tigers. He did look much better in his second start vs. Boston, but he is facing a vastly improved Baltimore lineup that is batting .293 vs. right-handers overall including a whopping .333 on the road. Also this game being played on artificial turf may help the offenses even more, given that both of these starters are predominantly ground ball pitchers.
