ORIOLES/DEVIL RAYS UNDER 8.5 -125 ? The Devil Rays have now lost 14 straight games, and they are batting just .205 as a team vs. right-handed pitchers over the last 10 games. They face a hot right-hander tonight in Lopez. All that Lopez has done is go 4-0 this year with an excellent 1.91 ERA and an outstanding WHIP of 1.06. He pitched 7 scoreless innings in his last start, allowing just 5 hits. The Devil Rays have never faced him, which is always a positive. Not to be outdone, Ryan Rupe has actually shown tremendous improvement this season, recording a sensational 0.98 WHIP in 37.2 innings! Like the rest of the Tampa Bay starting staff, he has been victimized by poor run support. He held the team with the best record in baseball, the Red Sox, to just 1 run and 3 hits in 7.1 innings last time out, yet still took the loss in a 2-0 defeat. I expect a similarly low scoring game tonight.
