I thought Oklahoma St. was a pretty good play tomorrow before I saw this. If this stuff is true I can't imagine the KSU squad coming out to play. Matt Boss' departure was confirmed by the KC newspaper and the clayton kid is the starting runningback. I know a couple people on this board have been on OSU for a couple weeks, I'm jumping on their bandwagon this week.

Matt boss, the most recent departure from the KSU football team

prince kicked his whole starting offensive line out of practice on Monday, and told them not to come back until Thursday.
Thomas Clayton and some of the seniors questioned why Prince kicked those guys out of practice because all they did was jump before the ball was snapped during drills. Clayton was then demoted to third team for challenging Prince. Gerald Spexarth then questioned Prince for demoting Clayton, and Spexarth was told not to return until next Monday.
While this whole fruckus was occuring, Boss was in the training room receiving treatment for a seperated shoulder. Unaware of the suspensions, Boss returned to the practice field with his arm in a sling.
Prince immediately grabbed Boss, apparently ripped off his sling and proceeded to call him a "f....n p....y" over and over. Prince allegedly stopped practice and then put Boss in the middle of the whole team and said something to the effect of...."This is why Baylor kicked our @#%$, because we have f....n p....ies like this guy on our team."
Prince made these remarks while pointing to Boss. Boss then went back in the lockeroom, put on his pads, and practiced in intense pain. The trainers told Coach Prince that Boss was unable to practice, and Prince allegedly berated the trainers.
Prince picked on Boss the rest of the practice and more players tried to defend him. Those teammates who came to Boss's aid were kicked out of practice. Prince then proceeded to talk about how his players will play through pain and not be "f....g p.....s" like Boss.
Monday night, Boss called his parents in tears. He told them what had happened and they told him to stick it out and suck it up, but they knew something was wrong with him. All he ever wanted to do was play football for K-State. He was a 4-Star recruit and a freshman starter last season.
Tuesday, Matt again called in tears, he couldn't move his arm but he didn't want to be humiliated by Prince again.
His parents finally decided to come see him. When they saw Matt, they noticed the obvious 2 inch bump where his collarbone was clearly unattached from his clavicle. They demanded a meeting with Prince, but he reportedly was to busy breaking down film. His parents were sick of being made to wait so they told the receptionist Matt was quitting the football team and they were taking him home.
Bill Snyder's son, who is Director of Football Operations or something like that for K-State signed Boss's release and they were never allowed to meet with Prince. When Boss asked to retrieve his stuff from the locker room he was told, "Only K-State football players and staff are allowed in the locker room. We'll send you your stuff.
Boss is so upset right now, he's considering quitting football altogether. His family is trying to convince him otherwise. </TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>

kolo,

Great information.
thanks for providing it.
These are the kind of things that can make a difference in an upcoming game.

Sounds like Kstate is in shambles.

They should be demoralized and I'm sure the entire team is against the coach.

If the oline didnt practice on tue and wed, which are the two real days of practice, they are going to have a difficult time picking up on the defensive schemes.

I played k state earlier this week, think I'm gonna buy out of it now.

thanks again.

Kansas State football coach Ron Prince announced Thursday afternoon that sophomore offensive lineman Matt Boss has decided to leave the Kansas State football program . . . "Matt expressed to me that he no longer has an interest in playing football or attending Kansas State and has decided to return home," Prince said of the Cherryvale native. "We would have liked to see him stay and at least finish out the academic semester at K-State, but he has opted to do otherwise and we wish him the best of luck with his future endeavors." . . . Boss redshirted as a true freshman in 2004, started the opening two games of the 2005 season, but was slowed by an injury vs. North Texas and was able to make just one more appearance . . . This season, Boss has appeared in just one game, seeing time as a reserve in K-State"s 45-0 win over Florida Atlantic on Sept. 9.

On more Tuesdays than not, the weekly Kansas State two-deep looks routine.

Tuesday was different.

Tuesday's required an extended look. Tuesday's look came with raised eyebrows. Tuesday's look was followed by a verbal, "What the heck is going on?"

? Leon Patton and Terry Petrie listed ahead of senior Thomas Clayton at running back

? Josh Freeman over senior Dylan Meier at quarterback

? Brock Unruh and Logan Robinson listed 1-2 at right guard, while John Hafferty and Gerard Spexarth were nowhere to be found

? Trevor Viers, only weeks ago a backup defensive end, now listed as the No. 2 right tackle.

In general, KSU coach Ron Prince said, "This is a performance issue. Penalties are a big part of it; being able to protect the quarterback is a big part; putting the ball on the ground is a part of it.

"Performance is the reason that people rise or don't rise in this business and that's the bottom line," Prince said. "It's not anything other than that. We're not trying to send a message, it's just a matter of performance."

Prince denies that the benching of seniors means he has junked the 2006 season to look to the future, but the fact is that Meier and Clayton have lost their jobs, and reserve senior running back Carlos Alsup didn't even make the trip to Baylor.

"The only future I'm looking forward to is this game on Saturday," Prince said in reference to the 2:30 start against Oklahoma State.

He later added, "You have to be willing at times to balance sticking to your guns and knowing what you believe, and then being willing to make change. That's one of the things I learned from the group of guys that raised me in this business. You have to have the courage to make change when it needs to be made."

Saturday, true-freshmen in Jeron Mastrud (TE), Patton (RB) and Freeman (QB) will start on offense, along with redshirt-freshman Brock Unruh (RG), Nick Stringer (RT).

Those changes to an offense that ranks 11th in the Big 12 in scoring (20.2), 11th in passing offense (195.8), 11th in total offense (299.2) and 10th in rushing offense (103.4).

An offense that ranks 10th in first downs, 11th in third-down conversions and 12th in Red Zone offense.

"The bottom line is we need to make sure we perform," Prince said.

Of the changes, defensive end Robert Johnson said, "No, there's not tension or anything. We are all just trying to get things done and get the team better."

- - 3 of 28

A total of 28 players were requested for Tuesday's press conference, but only three showed ? Ian Campbell, Robert Jackson and third-team tight end Michael Poosschke.

- - Clayton doesn't practice

The status of Thomas Clayton is unknown, but he did not practice on Tuesday. Clayton was seen going into the Vanier Complex academic center Tuesday evening while practice was still going on.
