Their greatest fear was of a powerful centralized government with broad scope of authority. The anti-Federalists feared the Constitution went too far and gave too much power to the Federal Government.

A few felt the Federal Government was too weak.

They all knew that it was not perfect; but, it was to form a more perfect union.
They also put in provisions to allow new safeguards to be made.
