By Michael Hiestand, USA TODAY
Joe Theismann will be replaced on ESPN's Monday Night Football, says an industry official with direct knowledge of the move.

The former Washington Redskins quarterback, who worked as an analyst on ESPN's primetime NFL games for 19 seasons, last year joined play-by-play announcer Mike Tirico and rookie game analyst Tony Kornheiser in the MNF booth last season.

"mike, when I played football I always thought that I was one of the best qb's in the league and that I would get into the hall of fame, now that I am announcing, I reallly think that I should be in the announcers hall of fame because nobody I know knows more than I know and I know for a fact that I can say I more than anyone in one sentence."
