Maybe so but for the most, I will always use domestic books for horse racing where the money gets pooled with the host track. This benefits the horsemen and of course, it is 100% legal.
Without the horsemen, there is no game and they obviously don't get a penny from off shore books.

Now I will rarely make an exception when making a fairly large play into a track with very small pools so not to influence the odds but 95% of the time my wagers are reasonably small and stay home.

exactly. posted something along the same lines in the same post up in general discussion.

I cant stress enough that if you are actually playing races at these books, make sure you are getting track odds on all payouts otherwise it is not worth your time.

hitting a trifecta and getting capped at 200:1 odds or something when the payout is a couple thousand would be a damn shame.

That is exactly right Airportis...usually they will give you full track odds on about three races a year...The Triple Crown and for everything else you have to read through paragraphs of rules to determine the win limits.

Those limits are always very, very low relative to the track odds when you happen to cap a couple longshots in a trifecta or even an exacta.

Don't want to hijack the thread but, it would be interesting if some of you would post the books/services you use to both support local tracks and also get full odds.

I use twin spires for almost all of my horse action because they give you free top of the line brisnet PPs for all thoroughbred and quarter horse tracks. That may not sound like much but at $3 a crack that expense can really add up. You don't get that offshore. Free live video from all tracks. You don't get that offshore either. Really quick payoffs back into your checking account as well. We all know that quick and reliable payoffs can be a bit of caveat emptor when wagering offshore( depending on your choice of books)

Harness programs are obtainable there as well but at a small fee. However my baby pacer and my buddies horses will and do currently race in Ontario and all Ontario harness PPs can be had for free from the host race track's homepage.

For those who like to wager on horse and dog racing there is a site called dayatthetrack

I have not use them for awhile but they are also quite good. At the time of my last wagers with them they had a pretty good rebate % and also quick payoffs. They do require certain minimum wagering totals for free video but any serious horse player would have no trouble reaching that level. I should add that twin spires also rebates but they base it on points and the rebates don't amount to much at all.

I keep hearing that Offshores have this rebate and that rebate but you also must consider the freebies that American books offer and their benefit to the game itself. I do admit that I am biased due to my own experience and having several friends in the business but it is vital to the future of North American racing to bet into host track pools. American race books always pay at full track odds without any exception that I am aware of. Air brings up a great point. I know a guy that had a superfecta ticket that paid 12K at the track and he got less than a grand off shore. He had no idea of this when he called me to tell me of his great score. To say he was a bit miffed when he checked his bankroll would be an understatement of epic proportions. He was ready to hop a plane and kill.

No prob and good info you provided. I did not consider that because we have no requirements in Ohio but laws do vary greatly from state to state.

I have a hope that with NJ planning dramatic changes in Online gambling that other states will join the 21st century as well and hop aboard.

Thanks for posting Full Court...I certainly use and endorse the majority of books sponsoring here.

I have heard good things about Twin Spires but, my issue has always been that I then have to keep $$$ tied up that I can only use on horses rather than using the same $$$ on either horses or other sports.

The support of the industry angle is important as I'm not going to play slot machines onsite but, maybe this is another way to contribute.
