I dont watch near as much hockey as I used to, but it seems every time I watch the Caps Ovechkin cheapshots somebody. Is the league so desperate to protect the stars that Bettman wont punish the guy?

Bettman is a douche. He won't punish anyone......see that shit against Savard? Dude is fucked up and Cooke got nadda, and he's a goon with 20+ REALLY cheap hits, taking out knees , headshots, etc.

I would agree the player was in a vulnerable position but ov did not hit him he pushed him and it could be augured from the side
It was borderline if it was a minor or major and I am not sure if the player came back to the game so the misconduct is ok with me. It was a bad deicsion by OV to push the player who was vulnerable but lets keep in mind it was a push not a hit and not a very hard push at that.

Very true, especially with all the rumblings that his knee on knee was cheap. Ovi should try to avoid such incidents. Today's was iffy, but IMO did not deserve a game misconduct.

I thought OV could have avoid the knee to knee hit earlier in the season.
I don't think he is a cheap shot artist, but he is in the early stages of developing a reputation....
