take it for what its worth but i am on fire right now.. havent had this kind of run in a couple of years, i guess its making up for so many .500 weeks in a row

cal -1 at ore
asu -2 at stan
wasH -17 at ua

ASU -2 at Stan
Without argument it is safe to say ASU is the most dissapointing team in the pac-10 and maybe in the country. There problems are big time on their d-line, wideouts and mental toughness.CAL exposed all 3. However they still think as a team they can win out and go bowling, but they better not look past Stanford this week. ASU scored in the 60's last year vs Stanford and it wasnt even close. Stanford is coming off the surprise win over UCLA and that has angered some Cardinal fans because they want Teevens out as coach. If Stanford has any running game they can expose the ASU defense like CAL did, if not they are in trouble. ASU will score and score often mostly running the ball behind Loren Wade who as a freshman has now eclipsed 100 yards in 3 straight games. PLAY ASU

CAL -1 at UO
You know things are tough for Oregon when they are dogs at home to a team floating around 500. There is a reason, Oregon take away the UM game have shown nothing. They cant stop anyone and their qb's are terribly incosistent. If they can stop Cals pass they wont stop the run, or vice versa. Cal is coming too balanced right now thanks to stellar play by the Running BacK Echemandu, who right up there with Steven Jackson are top of the pac in running . Geoff Macarthur reminding me of the Bobby Wade type reciever just stock piling yards. CAL is getting better and better and this is a game Cal needs to win to show they are in deed legit. PLAY CAL -1

Washington -17 at AZ

3 straight road teams becasue they are better than the home teams. This one is obvious. Since the home loss to UNR, UW
has found a bounce in their step. Cody Pickett is looking more like the QB that he was picked to be. They lose RIch Alexiss for the year but I didnt even know they ran the ball anyways. Arizona has far too many problems and folks in Tucson can smell the November cooler air meaning a light at the end of the tunnell. (I hear the lights are on at the McHale Center and a top 5 hoops team gearing up for a NC run) Washington rolls and covers -17

ucla/wsu no play yet

bgold - Like the Cal and Washington plays. As for ASU, this team is in disarray. Koetter is damn arrogant saying after the game he does not have the athletes. Well lets see Dirk, it is your 3rd year and you are recruiting so why aren't you getting the athletes. He said how he can't make any changes for this week as he has no depth. Walter said how he took some sort of painkiller in the ankle prior to the game and it did not help. He said as soon as he had to move around in the pocket that it hurt alot. This tells me one thing. He won't take any snaps again this week and the ankle is a month away from getting healthy. With ligaments bothering him on both sides of the ankle he can not plant at all. Defensively, ASU has got to fire their Defensive C. Guy is being called out here big time. ASU defense wears down every game and gives up big yards, game in and game out. I really can't see ASU winning in Palo Alto. I think it gets worse before it gets better for ASU. Just my 2 cents. All the best on Saturday!

Master- if Pickett indeed doesnt play I would hesitate to not play UW- without Alexis and Pickett there is trouble, but Tucson is not a hostile enviornment for an opposing team to go so whomever is behind center should be fine. I dont see any reason Walter doesnt play, from what I hear he is taking full reps in practice. If he doesent I think Kellar has shown more and more he is capable of running the offense. The o-line is intact and they are running really well

ND- It is too frustrating for me to get into the troubles with arizona state. I state this I am a big Dirk Koetter fan, I think I am the only one left. Brent Guy the D coordiantor, I am not a big fan of, I see way to much talent on the D to be allowing this many points a game. The 4-2-5 defense does not work in the Pac-10. I think Koetter needs to hire an offensive coordiantor because being head coach and oc is too much. He also has no excuse for saying the talent is thin, its bullsheet and he knows it. 5 consecutive top 25 recruiting classes and the talent is thin? They have MAJOR DLINE problems and that is not being addressed this recruiting class as of now either. If Walter comes back for his senior year this team will be better (obviously) and should be a top 25 team with everyone returning but then again they will screw it up. They should never have fired Bruce Snyder, a coach who took them one defensive play away from a national championship.

BRAD,
Congrats on the nice run, you are the PAC-10 man. However, at this point in time I would not even put monopoly money on ASU. They are simply as bad as advertised...HC Koetter has been a major disappointment failing to come up with just one quality win all year(ORE). Loss of T.Suggs & S.MacDonald early to the pros really set this team back as they lost their best offensive and defensive players off last year's club. I listened to them give up 38 points in the FIRST HALF LW vs CAL on none other than Homecoming! When he was at Boise St, Koetter successfully outscored everybody they played... that doesn't work in a major conference like the PAC-10. Stanford is not exactly USC, so a Devils win off such a humiliating loss would not shock me. Devils have been awful on road this year as well....blown out at Iowa 21-2, blown out at Oregon St 45-17, needed a hail mary on last play of game at N.Carolina to best the mighty 1-8 TarHeels 33-31, & lost at the Rose Bowl to UCLA 20-13, in a game that wasn't that close. Devils are 0-4 on the road this year SU & ATS...and this week they're road favorites at Stanford! I'm guessing this is more of a play Against Stanford than on ASU... You certainly know more about the Cardinal than I do & I know they are not good....I played ORE -10 off the bye week in a 35-0 wipeout of Cardinal 2 weeks ago....Let me know your thoughts on Cardinal & if this is still a play for you. Keep up the great work!

spot- yes this is an anti stanford play- asu hasnt lost to a horrible team this year and the talent level for asu is much better than at stanford. chris lewis is not a qb that will hurt asu. the types asu struggles against are rodgers at cal, durant at unc, leinart because he is amazing but not chris lewis at stanford.

When you heading to vegas?

According to my sources (Walter himself) he WILL be back next year, if he is not a consensus top 15 pick. By all indications, that is not going to be the case. He hasn't had the year he had liked to have, and he isn't the one to leave a job unfinished.

I think we should change Dirk's name to "Irk" because there is no "D" to be found on this team. There is a reason why no team other than TCU runs that retarded 4-2-5 defense. The 4-2-5 defense is another name for the "nickel" defense, which nobody seems to recognize. The nickel is a third down defense. The worst part about it, is we can't stop the run because we have 5 DB's in there, but we can't stop the pass, either. You would think because the DB's are smaller we should at least be able to stop the pass b/c they are faster...:nono:

The team is in disarray. The LT is a revolving door. He is a big weakness on that line. ASU's offense relys on the occasional long pass to stretch the field, but we don't have the recievers to do that. We have the receivers that can go 10-15 yards. The problem with that is that is not Walter's strength. Walter throws the best deep ball, he doesn't have the outstanding accuracy to throw the intermediate routes.

I don't think it is so much the talent on defense, as it is the scheming. Brent Guy is clueless and should be fired immediately. If Dirk doesn't watch his back, he is going to be the next to go.

It should be an interesting offseason.

I don't understand why you guys are not talking about Washington St. -10 over UCLA?

@ WSU is a tough place to play.

Washington St. has a very good defense that puts pressure on QB's. What do we have in UCLA? Young QB's with a horrible OL. UCLA is a team with a good defense and thats it. I am not a big fan of west coast offense in college and thats exactly what Dorrell wants. Its very hard to learn and kids leave every 4 years. UCLA offense is struggling and i think think the WSU defense will put pressure all day long to the UCLA qb's.

I know WSU is suppose to be banged up but I don't think it will matter.

This is huge game for both teams, and I think you will see WSU give their best effort and rebound after being dominated by USC ;)

I also agree and like CAL over Oregon. Both WSU and CAL are strong plays for me.

Last 4 or 5 years UofA has played UDUB close and tough every game. Add to the fact that this is homcoming weekend which means there will actually be fans in the seats, well at least till half time. Since the teams debacle, I think this game, CAL, and the ASU game were the only 3 games that were actually circled as the team having any shot in Hell to win. Don't get me wrong by my avatar, not being biased but I see UofA covering here as a dog. UDUB has been up and down all year, not calling a UofA W however I see them hanging in.

as for the latest asu problem: lightfoot slated as this years shaun mcdonald for asu has a dissapointing 11 catches all year but has been good on punt returns. his suspension is indefinite but he has been a major bust so its no loss there. Hill I havent heard about and I follow this team religiously, its hakim hill or randy hill the sprained knee? Either way they are fine at running back with both out because Loren Wade is a horse running and they can use last years starter cornell canidate or this years original starter mike williams

How do you like RB Loren Wade? I remember he wanted to go to USC (his mom also works at USC) but Pete Carroll would not give him a scholarship. From the sound of it you seem to like him.

Loren Wade started at number 4 on the rb depth chart this year and now is head and shoulders the number 1 guy. He breaks big runs and i would say he has as bright a future as lendell. Yeah he is a socal guy, gardena. Scott whats your guess on the ucla/sc line? wee have been debating this at work
