Will be giving a pick later this week, I am sure this game will be off the board until Bradford is officially announced as the starter. Going to objectively try to cap this game and maybe not have the homer goggles on. As of right now I am favoring the Packers.. Both teams can feel very fortunate winning today, Vikings score was not indicative of how the game was going and Mariota made a huge mistake to give the Vikings the lead and the momentum. In Jacksonville the Packers were very fortunate the Jags had terrible management under 30 seconds.
Offensively I expect the Vikings to struggle a little bit, Bradford will be the starter, there has to be some timing issues. Peterson had very little to work with in Tennessee as they stacked the line he had no room to run. Hill was able to find receivers but there is just something about the offense. The line has two new players and another shifting to a different position from last year. They lack tempo and they committed several penalties. Hill found open receivers and missed two easy TDs. Hopefully Bradford will make them pay but as much as I don't trust the Packer's D they are an big upgrade over Tennessee. Packers will be blitzing on third down and protection will need to hold up. Vikes need to set the tone early and establish the run and hopfully idiot Norv Turner figures out what the hell they are doing in the red zone.
Packers offensively will be one more game with Jordy back, they looked great at times against the Jags then awful others. Rodgers typically does well in Minnesota, and a big key is the status of Vikings starter Xavier Rhodes, if he is out it will be a HUGE advantage for the Packers, HUGE as he is the guy who locks down on Jordy. Packers have also run the ball down the Vikings throats their last couple trips to Minneapolis and maybe trying to do the same again.
The place is going to be rocking but they are playing an experienced team with a great QB at the helm. They won't be rattled, would have been nice to open stadium against Cutler instead. All in all I think the Packers offense is going to be what gets them over the hump, they will make that intangible play that the VIkings will not. It's my feeling today.
I think it's a lower scoring game, Favoring the Pack by a score at the moment. Will have to wait and see how the week progresses. Hopefully the Vikes are able to get AP going and set up some easy Bradford throws.
