Wayne, hope everything is well my friend. Just wanted to give you a couple factors for this weeks Patriots/Jets game.

Roosevelt Colvin, outside LB, and someone who many experts feel was the #1 defensive acquisition made in the NFL this off season is OUT for Patriots. This is significant because he is a key player which was going to be pressuring Vinnie. Bellchick plan is to put pressure on aging Vinnie.

Patriots believe with the acquisition of Ted Washington and Curtis Martin s noticeable decline jets will have problem rushing football. As your probably well aware Martin only carried 10 times for 32 yards against dolphins. Of course Jets were trailing significantly all game so rushing the football was not the priority. But several Patriots still friends with Martin agreed that Martin s game has considerably fallen off due to serious ankle injuries As well as his age (31) and the tremendous work load Jets have placed on him last 5 seasons.

Abraham, the Jets best cb by far (led team in interceptions past 2 seasons) is OUT for this game. This is significant because Abraham is only cb capable of covering TROY BROWN 1 on 1. Because of Abraham absence New York can not cheat their safety' s up into the box to assist in New Englands short passing attack (5-9 yards) that Charlie Weiss & Brady love to work. Patriots will be going 5 wide spreading field & exploiting the absence of Abraham.

Patriots have work on no huddle offense this week to further exploit under manned Jets secondary. Weather is looking to be 75 Saturday & 80 Sunday, so field should be immaculate as no game has been played since mid August.

I know you don't like chalk, but I think the 6, 6.5 is still within Patriots range to cover. I try as possible to handicap these games objectively my friend, and made significant money on Buffalo the first week against New England. I know I gave you conflicting angles regarding Colvin and Abraham absence, but I think Bellchick s multiple front and blitz defense will still be able to pressure immobile Vinnie.

Good luck buddy
Dan

JUST A HEADS UP..

...BE AWARE THAT THE PATS WILL BE IN A 4-3 WUITE A BIT ON SUNDAY ACCORDING TO THE LOCAL SPORT MEDIA....OBVIOUSLY THAT IS NOT THE MOST RELIABLE SOURCE BUT IT DOES MAKE SENSE...

PATS ACQUIRED COLVIN FOR THE VERY FACT OF SWITCHING TO A 3-4 ....AND ALSO ACQUIRED WASHINGTON TO STUFF THE MIDDLE IN THAT ALIGNMENT...NOW THAT COLVIN IS OUT FOR THE YR.. EXPECT THE PATS TO PLAY A LOT MORE 4-3....

THEY ARE HOPING MgININST WILL STEP UP HIS PLAY ....

I WOULD NOT BE SURPRISED TO SEE THE PATS PROBLEMS AGAINST THE RUN RESURFACE THIS WEEK....FOR THE ABOVE REASONS...AND THEIR HAS BEEN A LOT OF TALK OF MARTIN BEING DONE..WASHED UP ..ETC...

HE HAS PLENTY OF MOTIVATION IN THIS GAME......

THESE TEAMS HAVE PLAYED VERY CLOSE GAMES OVER THE YEARS ....

IN ADDITION....THE SECONDARY IS A BIT BANGED UP AS WELL....FOR THE PATS..

WE ALL KNOW VINNY IS IMMOBILE ...ETC..BUT HE CAN STILL THROW ...

ANY MORE THOUGHTS MY IRISH FRIEND...??
