Patriots Spying

Patriots have been charged with spying on Jets during game. From what I heard, the NFL confiscated a camera that was being used to spy on the Jets trying to pick up signals and then send them back over to Pats coaches...

If this is proven, you have to wonder how long its been going on and how much those titles really mean?

Has a Barry Bonds feel to it in my book.

Dirtiest team in football.

this is ridiculous, have you ever seen how many times defenses & offenses change positions & formations before the ball is snapped? What someone is video, then runs over to Belichick tells them what defense, then they signal to Brady what defense, and all this transpires before the play clock runs out:shrug: just the Jets crying because they got there ass handed to them.:mj07:

To take away the fact that Moss had almost 200 yds and Brady was just about perfect. The media are a bunch of whores. Ankiel story after he is on fire and team wins 12 of 14. Same ol shit.

Ya the Jets didn't comment, who do you think pointed this out to NFL security. This happens all the time, why do you think coaches always hold there folder in front of their mouth while they call signals. Why did the Jets call Reche Caldwell in the day after he got cut last week?

Pats apparently were caught doing the same at Lambeau LY. Also, there was an issue w/ the Dolphins LY.

I understand you not wanting to believe this story as a Pats fan, but to throw it on the Jets is silly.

Hope its not as bad as it looks

I knew they had to cheat to beat the Steelers 158 times in the AFC Championship games...In Pittsburgh no less...The Pats are cheaters and they should have to give back all of their Super Bowl Championships...Hahahahaaha :mj07:

Just kidding...I really hope its not true...It would kind of spoil a lot of the success they had. I hate the Patriots because they've given me heartbreak for years now but at the same time I love them because they are a true team.

Cie, I have no problem believing the story, it happens every game, in every sport, as Morris just said. Stealing signals has gone on for decades. That's why pitchers hold their gloves over their mouth talking with catcher. And why coaches as I mentioned always hold folder s in front of their mouths when calling signals.

To characterize this with Bonds is ridiculous.

I always thought coaches were being overly cautious in doing that. I am a gullible southerner, though. :SIB

Hopefully, it turns out to be no big deal .

Teams in pro sports will do anything to get a edge. Especially these two rivals. Almost all the coaches and many players have played for the opposition, they played each other 4 times now in the last year. Believe me they already know everything the other team is going to do. Brady knows everything they are going to do defensively, Pennington knows every thing New England is going to do defensively. Execution makes the difference, video doesn't help you tackle better, run faster, catch better. Still they will do what they can to get a edge, which is why New York called in Caldwell (wr) the day after New England cut him last week. I'm sure he got paid to reveal what he knows about New England offense plan for Jets this week.

It might be no big deal, but it might not be...

There is a huge difference in hearing things or reading lips or whatever than taking pictures and filming the other team's sideline.

It also might not be a matter of stealing info for that play and trying to relay it instantly. It could be more of a matter of getting signals down for later in the game. Trying to figure out what means what, etc.

I have no problem if a defender looks into the offense's huddle and tries to listen or watch. That's why the offense huddles up 10 yards away.

But it would be totally different to put a coach in the opposing team's huddle and to tape it.

Yeah, sorry dude, that is pure cheating.

Touchdown, I'm not saying this isn't wrong, just saying it has been going on for years and years, its nothing new, and Patriots certainly aren't the only team doing it. Comparing it with Bonds, or saying that's why New England won 3 Super Bowls is ridiculous. I spend many hours at New England Practice in summer camp. There are probably 20 or more signs prohibiting cameras or video equipment of any kind all over the practice facility. Why is this? Why would 20 or more giant signs be made & put all over practice facility? Think maybe someone in the past with links to Jets Dolphins or buffalo was doing some video work?

Its wrong, its cheating, & they should be punished.

To say it makes no difference on the field is retarded. Of course it does. If NE knows exactly what D a team has called, it makes it real easy to tell Tommy inside that little helmet. His job gets a whole lot easier.
