NCAA Record: 8-5 (+6 units), 7-1 the last two weeks.
Boston College at Virgina Tech (-14), 2 units
Boston College has played only one team in the top 25--and lost at home. That loss to Florida State (28-17) is their only loss and makes their record look way better than what it is. Their wins have come against mostly weak opponents. They've also been fortunate to play five of their 7 games at home. Their one ACC road contest was a narrow victory over Clemson, 16-13. VT on the other hand have been dominant everywhere, but especially in Blacksburg. They've won their three home games by a combined margin of 137-21 (Ohio 45-0, Ga Tech 51-7, and Marshall 41-14). While those teams may not be at the top of the football ranks, consider that the Hokies' went on the road last week to Maryland and won easily, 28-9. Also consider their 45-0 spanking at Duke. Throw in a confortable 34-17 win at WV and you have the makings of a dominating team.
Combined with BC's unimpressive schedule to date and VT's record, overall performance, and #3 BCS ranking, not only do the Hokies have much more to play for (BC is tied with FSU in the ACC A but has no tie-break), but they simply are dominating. The Hokies roll at home.
