I occasionally wear one around work. As a nurse, it gives me one more thing to bitch about! It was very inexpensive (read "free") and given to me by a pharmaceutical rep.

You can get them from simple and cheap at about $4, on up to about $40 for complicated and programmable. All you have to do it Google "pedometer". For example: Bodytronics.com
