Joe Schad:

"These sanctions were not self-imposed or negotiated. This is Emmert taking a stand he felt he had to due to horrors in Freeh Report.

Penn State sanctions expected to be extremely harsh and could even be perceived as more damaging long-term than "death penalty".

If it were up to Marine..........he'd sanction every other coach in the NCAA, and then he'd resurrect Joe Pa from the dead and have him coach PSU for another 50 years.

In all seriousness Joe Paterno protected a child molester, the PSU brass protected a child molester. If it were up to me any PSU team that brings in money should be shut down for at least two years.

Of course the PSU athletic department has suffered enough:facepalm:

I like that one layinwood.:0074

(but remember Paterno did all he can do, so you can't take away any of the Paterno money).

Kick, that's no me saying that. In addition to lost scholarships, bowl ban they will get anywhere from a 30 to 60 million dollar fine.

I know you didn't say that about Paterno, but some on here actually have, but we don't want to name names.

Note: I love the fines going to the kids idea, that is a great idea.:0074

If it were up to Marine, Marine would chime in with what the punishment should be.

But since you asked, and since you enjoy trying to call me out because I won't chant the same mantra and burn the same pitchfork you do.. I'll share my thoughts.

1. The NCAA should not be involved in criminal matters such as these.
but since they are,

The punishment should not be so one dimensional that it only makes the students on the football team suffer.

No, the punitive measures should be much more far reaching than that.

As we saw in the press release earlier this morning about the statute coming down - the statue will come down because seeing Paterno there will cause conflict and anger.

Paterno's name will remain on the campus library, Erickson said, because it would be really expensive to have to replace that and more people would be upset and have to spend their own money on things "symbolizes the substantial and lasting contributions to the academic life and educational excellence that the Paterno family has made to Penn State University."

My opinion, if you're tearing down the statue because it's Paterno, you need to be taking down the library with the same bulldozer.

Marine you defended Paterno on here over and over and over again, now your tune has changed, you never admitted that you were wrong.

I could post all your quotes defending Paterno again if you like?

As layinwood said fine the University millions of dollars and give it to the kids Paterno helped get raped.

All athletic teams that make any money for the Unversity should also be banned from playing for at least two years.

Paterno covered up for a child rapists so it would be nice to take away his money that he earned and give it to the victims, but he's dead so I guess you can't do that.

I am sure the Paterno family is very proud of Joe, ya know, because of all the good he has done:facepalm:

I'm not rehashing this arguement with you over and over again.

Did I say since day 1 that I thought people were hopping on the kill Paterno bandwagon a bit hastily and the punishments towards him specifically were being overzealous and wildly overstated? Yes.

Did I ever say he was 100% innocent in the entire incident? No.
If I did, please show me where (and not a cute sound byte quote either, the full context of what I wrote) and I will acknowledge it.

I'm not going to argue about your inability to comprehend what you read, and what you think you read.

It doesn't matter what I write - All you are going to see is that I won't chant "Burn down PSU" with you and that will be where you stop reading and comprehending.

Best of luck, on the other side of your play.
