Probably a played up story. I'm no selfie fan, but how would they be able to catch a healthy dolphin? No way; the dolphin was probably sick or injured. Also didn't look like a baby to me.

It must of got too close to the shore & wasn't able to swim back out to sea cause of the low tide & got stuck in the lower water close to shore. Not saying this happened but just speculating. If so I can't believe someone can't help him back out to open water. Just unreal shit.
