Last 4 years went to GVR, and had good time there, nice grounds and rooms.

my buddy says what about Peppermill this year in Reno for a change????

Never been, so hard to Pro/Con the idea.

What should we expect, that may differ from Vegas???

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I enjoyed Reno last summer for a week....

Bunch of older casinos downtown in a small 2-3 block walkable area. Lots of grifters and pawn shops, reminded me of Vegas Downtown.

Newer area is Peppermill, + Atlantis + Silver Legacy...top notch,
Premium destinations.

Reno airport about 10-15 minutes away, easy drive or about 20 dollars by cab.

Take a little extra time and hit Beautiful Lake Tahoe, and Carson City and their casinos and sites about an hour from Reno.

Do not miss Gold and Silver inn restaurant near Peppermill.....been their 60 years, AWESOME comfort food.....

Most of all...ENJOY...:toast:

Always have enjoyed Reno--friendlier--good side trips-better prices-not as good sports books but odds are the same

If you are staying downtown the casinos all offer a free shuttle from the airport into town. Every half hour during the day and they are clean and a cheap way to get to your hotel.
The peppermill may offer that as well, but I've never stayed out there as I'm only in Reno to bowl and the stadium is a short walk from the Silver Legacy, allowing you to not have to rent a car to get around.
Agree with the short trips to Lake Tahoe and Virginia City or Carson City, well worth your time if you are looking to get away from the casinos for a bit.
