Seattle Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said he wants to see his team finish better tonight when they face the Los Angeles Chargers in a preseason game.

Pete Carroll said he was happy with the way the first-team offense and defense performed in Week 2.

Carroll said plenty of younger players will see action during tonight?s game. He was vague on whether some of the regular starters will play, but he did mention how he would like to see starting linebackers Bobby Wagner, K.J. Wright and Mychal Kendricks get some reps on the field before the regular season begins. The three have not been on the field at the same time in a game during the preseason.

Chargers? coach Anthony Lynn said he will rest his starters for tonight?s game. That means starting quarterback Philip Rivers isn?t expected to play and Lynn said cornerback Casey Hayward will play for a few snaps. Lynn?s taking a very conservative approach after seeing injuries hit offensive tackle Russell Okung, safety Derwin James and wide receiver Keenan Allen, while running back Melvin Gordon continues to sit out because of a contract dispute.
