the phillies acquired this young kid from arizona in the curt schilling deal and sent him to triple a scranton wilkes barre where he went on to a 7-0 record in 16 starts with a era of 2.42. obviously has good enough stuff to pitch in game 2 of the season.
millwood has just been too inconsistant the last few years, going 10-13 in 2000 after a 3-0 start, and then last year started out 1-3 before injuring his shoulder in may, that put him on the shelf until july. also millwood is 1-3 career wise vs the phils in 4 starts.

eveyone probably on the giants today after bonds started where he left off last season with 2 dingers yesterday. however hideo nomo career wise has held mr bonds pretty much in check (4 for 25 .160 ba and 1 hr). nomo also had an awesome spring where he pitched to a 1 .84 era, and is 7-2 with a 1.84 era lifetime vs the giants. ortiz for the giants on the other hand had a tough spring where he had an era of 5.40 with 18 walks in 28 innings pitched. lifetime vs the dodgers ortiz is 2-3 with an era of 6.69.
