some thoughts on the ATL offense, Philly D:
ATL run game vs Philly Front 7-8-9 (safeties will be walked up):
I'm not talking about Vick's scrambling yards here, talking Duckett/Dunn. The ATL TB's combined for whopping 80 yards in two games vs TB this year, and that was with their lead blocker Christian (a very underrated player). I can't see these two putting up more than 50-60 combined against Philly. Simon/Douglas will control the LOS and Philly will walk Bishop/Dawkins up, daring ATL's very average WR's to beat Vincent/Bobby Taylor. Speaking of Vincent/Taylor...
ATL pass game vs Philly DB's:
With the run game shut down, ATL will likely be forced to the air. Bobby Taylor is the perfect matchup for the physical Finneran and Vincent has enough gas left in the tank to run with any of the other WR's. Douglas will be bringing the heat all game and he won't let Vick out of his grasp like KGB last week. The only advantage I see for ATL here is Crumpler working the middle of the field, but it won't be enough. He is still prone to drops and not the Shockey type difference maker that will given Dawkins problems.
The most I see ATL putting on the board is 10 here, and even with a rusty McNabb the Eagles will put up 20. Easy cover. I'm thinking 27-7.
Don't forget the Vet is a tough place to travel in January. Just ask the any of last year's Bucs or the 95 lions.
Anyone see it differently?
