Rockets update:
? It appears Tracy McGrady will be available Friday as the Rockets try to avoid losing their season series with the Suns for what could be a pivotal tiebreaker in the playoff standings.
? Since getting hurt, McGrady has shot 37.0 percent from the field, including 6-for-24 from 3-point range.
? The Rockets could be missing starting forward Shane Battier, who was limited to 18 minutes against the Sonics due to a bruised left foot and ankle.

Battier questionable
Rockets forward Shane Battier, who has played in every game since joining the team before last season, was considered questionable to play tonight against the Suns because of a bruised left foot and ankle.

Tracy McGrady said he would return tonight and sounded as certain that Battier would play, as well.

"One thing I know, Shane will be in uniform (today)," McGrady said. "He is the iron man of our team."

Coach Rick Adelman, however, said the Rockets would be cautious in the final games before the playoffs.

"We'll just see who's available," Adelman said. "We have to get them healthy for the playoffs. I just have to rely on the medical people and those two guys (Tracy McGrady and Battier) being truthful and telling us how they feel. It's next week, a week from this weekend, when they really count.

"Like Shane, if it's really bothering him, he has to get healthy. We just have to really gauge that, listen to what those guys say and listen to the doctors."

I wouldn't even factor this into the equation as Brooks is playing better than T-Mac. This guy is something else.
