Not just the well-documented Heisman jinx ( but a big part if it: Johnny Football running all over on publicity tours and late night talk shows and NBA games) but the real reason IMHO is the absence of OC Kliff Kingsbury.
The new Texas Tech coach was a big part of record-setting campaigns of Manziel and UH's Case Keenum.
Stoops record in big games is less than stellar, but I would argue that w/o it being for the title, he can still get the troops ready.
Maybe the first year bowl coach angle comes into play here too.
I already played OU at + 4.5 and +3.5.

Bittersweet as I grew up an Aggie, and even went there two years ( hated it).
