During Johnson-Klein's rookie season, both total and average attendance figures more than doubled those of the 2001-02 campaign. The Bulldogs went 13-2 at home while averaging 1,462 fans in the final season at the North Gym, tallied five sellouts overall and drew 4,507 for a WNIT second round victory at Selland Arena over Oregon State. The 2003-04 campaign was even more impressive, as Fresno State ranked 19th nationally in average attendance during the inaugural season of the Save Mart Center. The Bulldogs drew 62,933 total fans and averaged 4,495 per game- both new program highs. Fresno State topped the 4,000 mark in all but one game, with the 5,237 fans that turned for the regular season finale against Nevada representing the largest crowd in school history.
