If this guy cant turn a team around and try and get the management to open up their wallets, who can? This team is doomed unless they buck up and make the necessary moves to compete in the big leagues. The scary part is that they have a ton of talent but they need some big names, bottom line. I dont seem them getting out of last place for years unless they do something, now that piniella looks like he is leaving, where do they go now? Unbelievable........

I agree, gotta believe if the yankees dont make it to the World Series this year that Torre and Co. will be on their way out of the Bronx, making room for Lou. The relationship between the Boss and Torre et. al has been rocky all year, wonder what would happen to Mattingly if this were to happen. I don't think you can move him out of the dugout; he is the most popular coach in new york right now, baseball wise.

Im sure 2much chalk will have something to say about this post before long.

I don't care how good TB has looked of late, I lost any respect I may have had for Pinhead when he left in starters out on the mound to fry many times earlier in the year. He wanted a buyout and was using these kids to push his position and embarass the owners. Hope he gets his Yankee job and shiits the bed now, at the end of his career.
